I think it great for delivery only
Otherwise with pick up we also has another choice for $222 http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/46294
As I need delivery, I bought one from Dell with $254 compare to $242 (from Harris tech) because I just prefer Dell monitor direct from Dell :D

Edited 06 June:
I was chatting on Live chat for asking a price match. Then I got one with $222 plus delivery
It took ~5min to ask "would you like to do a price match"
You don't have to provide any website or how you found a lower price as they already know that $222 is from Harris Tech.
So if you'r looking for a Dell UltraSharp U2311H click on Live chat and spend ~5min to get a cheaper price

Delivery was $9.98 to the Sydney locations I tried…
And I don't understand how paying MORE represents an OzBargain deal???

    • as I tried a code from another post but it didn't display on invoice so it may not work. anyway I'm going to go to Harris on Monday to take a look.
I don't think it means pay more as delivery from Dell is very fast and also good packing.

You will get it in the same box from Dell or HT and maybe even the same courier company…
And if you are going to HT on Monday anyway you will get it even quicker than from Dell because you can buy it and take it home and save $24 - Dell won't deliver by Monday :)
BTW I don't understand your comment; $24 more from Dell is paying MORE :)

        • thanks :)

How is this a deal? If its cheaper elsewhere, and in this case we know it is (because someone posted a deal about the same product like four deals lower), it cant be a deal!

And im getting ~$10 delivery for my (sydney metro) location. Meaning even if the promo code doesnt work, it still comes to only $231 shipped from HT.

Edit: Even if you get the 7% cashback its STILL more expensive (though not by as much only a few dollars). But still not worth a post - just type this as a comment in the other deal).

    • how can you get 7% cash back?

      • Moneybackco. Its right underneath every deal (that has a cashback program). Alternatively ireward or buckscoop.

        • thanks

  • you could have $50 cash rebate from american express

I think 1 neg should have been enough. If everyone has the same reason for the neg, please don't neg more than once. OP won't be allowed to post until after 5 days.
    Check negging guidelines before negging

“Ditto” “see above” etc. - Well its already got a negative vote, for that reason, its not a popularity test so no need to vote again. And if you feel that strongly that you need to, then it shouldn't be hard to explain why. Again understand what negative votes are used for

If you can get $59 cash rebate and 7% MBC then it's a pretty good deal if you ask me.

    • I don't think neg votes are only one per reason for negativing any more than positive votes can only be one per motivation.

      • positive vote can be for making it know to more members while the neg vote has the added effect of banning the OP from posting.

I'm just saying what the guidelines tell me. If its for the same reason, then people have already been made aware of the problem with the deal, negging it doesn't really help. I just find people very trigger happy when it comes to negs and I myself neg deals only if I strongly feel against it.

Also I think it's unjustified that people negged considering OP also posted the link to the other deal but hey that's my opinion. Feel free to do whatever you like

        • Where do the guidelines tell you that it's only one negative vote per reason for a negative vote?

I think your attempt to protect the poster is noble. I think your reasoning is weird. I would just leave it with that I'd personally prefer the guy didn't get a neg suspension 'cause he was honest and upfront, not try and make it seem like the guidelines supported that view.

        • Well its already got a negative vote, for that reason, its not a popularity test so no need to vote again

We have been taught to believe that negative equals realistic and positive equals unrealistic."

  • Just wondering if you get the zero pixel replacement program warranty if you purchase from HT? Pretty sure this model has it if bought from Dell.

    • No, only buy directly from dell! I do ask HT about this.

  • Please keep in mind, you will not get any replace if you get a dead pixel in the middle of your new monitor if you buy for the cheaper $222 from HS, but you do can do what ever replace you want if you buy 254 from dell, just for extra $30 you get a big insurance your monitor will be "perfect"!!!!! I will buy only from dell as I don't want risk to get a dead pixel monitor for just $30.

And for amex card, there is $50 cashback if buy from dell to end of June, which make it even better, it is definitly a deal!

If it was explained this way as a post I can see why some people would consider it a deal, provided they have an eligible AmEx card and were one of the first 7,500 who got in and registered…

BTW, Dell informed me that the warranty is the same whether I buy it from HT or them and HT actually lists the warranty as "36 Month Manufacturers Warranty" - it seems there is some conflicting information here but it wouldn't be the first time I have encountered that when dealing with a company ;)

ok Dave I just done one more purchase with Dell thought Live chat and I got it for $222 for my uncle. How good it is! It took 5min to ask "would you like to do a price match". And he know already it from HT. So I got one with same price plus delivery and better warranty. So now it could be a deal right?

        • +2

Same warranty (unless they extended it for you). And pricematching doesnt qualify as a deal - otherwise every second post would be for officeworks. The established rule is to post the original deal, and then mention that you could get a pricematch elsewhere.

And the amex cashback doesnt make something a deal either. If a netbook was $201 at mln and $250 at harvey norman, you wouldnt post harvey norman stating 'its more expensive, but cheaper with the cashback'. Because as a result, pretty much EVERYTHING at the listed retailers becomes a 'deal'.

The correct way to go about this post was to simply make a comment in the HT deal post stating that dell include delivery in their price, so a) you could price match it down to HT's price, b) you could get the amex cashback if you're registered and havent already used it and c) theres a moneybackco cashback option too.

        • Congrats legelas !
I am happy for you that you got the same price through your preferred sales channel; Dell :)

  • it's cheaper :D because $222 plus delivery :D

    • Lol you don't get it, read the comments again. Pricematching isn't a deal.
