Excellent price, possibly the lowest it has ever been!

these have been 600 for as long as I can remember - I have had one for years and it has never missed a beat

  • Wow! $100 lower than usual bargain price. Use 10% off ebay gift cards = $431.28

  • Got one already, but for those on the fence - best price I have ever seen for this.

  • Thanks OP! Missy always wanted one.

  • The steel colour is still the same price…

  • Literally made a coffee on this machine minutes ago before I up voted this.

Get good beans, clean it regularly. Enjoy.

    • I've had one for years, pretty low maint.

  • Bought one this morning in the sale at 10.01 as I didnt want to miss out. The cheapest price yet.

Though I've noticed Brevilles own RRP has now dropped to $599 so this might be the new 'sale' price going forward….

  • Wow, what great value. And it's a beautiful red. I wish this deal came up like 4 months ago.

  • Nothing's gonna replace the analog pressure meter.

    • Its 2019. What could analog possibly have over digital?

  • Can you recommend good beans with this?

    • I get my beans from Wagonga coffee because they do medium roast

      • Thanks, any other brand recommendations so i can get it on Woolworths or coles easily?

        • Aldi "Lazzio" Medium Roast go really well in this machine if you have an Aldi nearby. Read up here https://www.aldiunpacked.com.au/Article/December-2018/Suppli…

Don't get a supermarket bean on this, it's like putting in e10 into a brand new Maserati

          • @tightm8: While you are at Good Guys buy a popcorn popper and roast your own beans. Plenty of places to get fresh green beans.

        • +1

lol Coles/Woolworths/Aldi beans you might as well not get a coffee machine.

        • Do NOT get supermarket beans if you actually like your coffee. You have to spend the extra for decent "fresh" beans by a roaster.

        • +1

Pablo and rusty are really cheap with numerous offers you can find here on OzB. The beans are delivered fresh and quickly so just as easy as buying from the shops
I prefer other beans (axil, dukes, wood & co, st Ali etc) but P&R are pretty good for the price

  • Only in red?

  • I have the one model up 980, these breville machines have saved me $3 a day for five years after costs of beans Etc, best purchase ever

  • God mine for $520 a year ago
    Worth it though

  • Where do you guys get your cleaning tablets for this from?

    Hi guys,
Will this be alright for a total beginner? All I've ever used for a coffee until now other than buying outside is my Dolce Gusto machine.

Always wanted to have a decent coffee at home but not sure if I'll be able to operate it.

    Any tips/recommendations please ?

    • +2

Perfect for a beginner, and a great price too. Just a little trial and error when you first get it but after maybe 10 coffees youll dial it in

      • This grinds the beans as well right? Is there any other accessory that I'll have to buy separately?

        • +1

          You’ll need a knock box!

          • @jakeyo: I thought about a knock box, but my tallish Ikea bin is just fine for the job. A knock box might be good for someone whose bin is not very convenient to dump their grinds into.

        • +2

You don't need a knock box. A sturdy bin or container is good enough

          • @edrift: sink? or is grind bad for the water system?

            • @dylan345: Probably fine for the sewerage system because it's just naturally occurring grinds, but it'll block up your pipes before it gets into the system.
Would highly recommend not dumping it down the sink.

I use a nespresso pod recycling bin as my knock box. It's durable, air tight and I had it already. Waste goes into my compost heap when it's full.

It's decent, but IMO -> You're better off getting a second hand Silvia and decent grinder for the same price. Check out coffee snobs buy/sell section. There are always Silvia's up for sale with a grinder combo. I've had my Silvia for 12 years and is still as good as the day I got it.
Personally, I'd avoid an all in one machine like this with the grinder built in….

      • I think this is a great place to start the coffee journey. After using it, you can upgrade to a Rancilio and hand grinder or whatever. Part of the fun in a hobby is progression. It's like starting on level 30 instead of 1. I would think most people would start on 1.

  • Just purchased this in black for $611 at HN Thursday night. $479 is a good price!

    • Ive had the black machine for about 18 months. Looks great and makes a great coffee too

      • +1

We haven’t turned it on yet, had to purchase some fresh beans today, will try tomorrow!

      • +1

I want the black …. At the red price.

        • Bought the 920 and the grinder combo.

Red wasn't gonna cut it, as my excuse.

    Thanks OP, just bought one!

TGG also have the Silver and Black available for $559 by using this same code. The Added advantage to Click and Collect if you don't want to pay delivery costs too.

Got one already, when I bought it 2 years ago I paid $50 extra just for the Cranberry colour (paid 568.65 after a code on eBay, seller was Bestbuy). Great machine, mine hasn’t missed a beat (I’ve only used bottled water in the water tank, and never changed the filter). I’ve met some people with the same machine that insist to make a good coffee you need fresh roasted beans but I do an amazing coffee with lavazza oro from woolies.

  • Almost out of stock anywhere in VIC for C&C

Had to get one of these for a friend overseas so just paid $38 delivery

Still a good price at $517 delivered and colour is ok

  • Apart from price, what are the benefits of the new machine, BES878?

    • I have the 878.

I'm sure there's more benefits, but it has a 3 second heat up time.

      • Any regrets?

        • +1

          None whatsoever.

Can't speak for the BES870 as I've never used it, but all the reviews I've read have been positive. Just make sure you get some good beans and you're good to go.

          • @tabz: Thanks for coming back to me tabz

  • I'd get this but I don't want to make my grinder redundant lol

I actually prefer the look of this over the new one.

  • Finally caved
Even though my fully automatic machine is still going, I tried one of these and made a much nicer cup

  • This is a great machine at a great price, never seen it sub $550

  • expired.
Red is out of stock and the other colours are AU $559.20 after discount.

    • This is my punishment for not pulling the trigger… I was going to order it tomorrow… :(

  • Still in stock near Brisbane - Morayfield and Capalaba

    • Will they do the 20% off?
      Edit: Just tried, they won't
