this gimmick really does not say anything about the products that they are going to sell.

No details, No Sale - Spam!

    • +1

It's hardly spam skinny. Not a good deal, maybe…

  • Might be handy, especially for those wanting to use their $50 amex cashback. I know I got a pretty great deal on a camera during the 20% off weekend, got it down to greyimport+shipping cost.

    • which one did ya get?

      • Canon ixus 220. Website price is $308, brings it down to $247ish. Then bought a case ($25 less 20% = $19) and a memory card (sandisk extreme class 10 8gb, listed at $90 but pricematched down to $45). Total price $310. Less amex cashback and gst (coz im travelling) = $230.

Its unbelievable how expensive their SDHC cards are, the sandisk I bought started at $90, i managed to halve it but thats still a mad ripoff considering mobiciti have it for $24 delivered. Just needed to get my invoice over $300 for the GST refund.

        • consider most of their sales person based on commission

  • This was already added and i believe removed earlier.

    Whats the bargain "specifically"

  • no-deal

Ok, so HN think they're so appealing we're all expected to flock into a sale with no idea of what they're selling. Talk about arrogant. How many times can I vote negative???

If you haven't been to one of these sales, you have no idea how popular they can be (for whatever reason!) We had lines of 50+ people waiting to be let in. Couldn't believe it!

These same ppl dont have interwebs!
Doesnt the store shut for an hour so they can rip down all of the "sale" prices?

      • +4

They obviously are people who dont visit ozbargain, dont use or have the internet, dont have a credit card, dont use paypal, dont have a bank account, stick their money under their mattress, and wear a tin foil hat.

        • I think you will find it is the Ozbargainers who wear the tin-foil hats ;)

  • Not in WA…..

it's pure genius marketing as usual from Hardly Normal-they won't give you specific model numbers and discounted prices to stop you from researching the best prices ahead of the sale and then asking for a price match! plus, another thing in their advantage, even IF you used your mobile to do a price search, the sale is at 6pm when they can't ring up other stores to check item quantity/price matces!
'Hardly Normal, you've done it again!'

  • Ridiculous 'sale' and not in WA makes me something something…

    • Why are you upset about a sale you know is just a sham of a sale?
People getting upset cause they couldn't get in on the Staples.com.au love I can understand, but getting upset because you don't have a shitty HN sale in your state is kinda sad!

It's partially because of the 'except WA' rubbish, but I agree with everyone else - Harvey Norman claiming to have this great sale whilst telling us absolutely nothing about it is ridiculous.

  • Just went to check it out. Electronics section was so packed and very hot with bodies.. step outside and its cool.
Anyway, the sale was nothing great. Ranged from 5% to 20% off marked price which was still high..there were 2 items that were 50% off but I know for a fact that they are marked up 300%. The item I was after wasn't discounted at all :(.

  • Just visited Carindale Harvey norman, absolutely nothing special from any other day, feels like wasted my time.

can confirm it was a waste of special time!

  • Wow, interesting. Was there anything on special at all? Even things you weren't interested in?

    • all thing were marked on special. but looked at the prices, so disappointing.

But I managed to get a sony vpcsb16fg when it was 30% off there.

  • can confirm it was a waste of special time too! SA

  • The word "sale" means nothing to me… nothing.

Went there and had no idea there was a sale on so I rushed there before 530 as that was when they closed but got there and realised they closed at 5pm for the 6pm sale. So waited half an hour and went in to get a Philips blender. They were selling it for 150 but it was advertised on their site for 120! Showed him the site and he promptly changed the price phew! Im sure the markup is pretty high on that as well but I couldnt find any other place that sold Philips so. Good buy for me but sale its not

  • My local store never opened at 6pm

    Wow …

    • thats cuz ur store was on sale. :p
