Is this laptop a particular brand ? maybe thats worth mentioning

    • +1

      looks like an asus.

    • +1

Right, fixed the title. It is Asus N series notebook.

      • +2

Just a question, why is it that almost all Australian laptops have 5400RPM drives while the American models have 7200RPM drives?

  • +1

you might wanna mention the 2 year global limited warranty. That is a selling point as well!

    • +1

      That's right

The COTD deal http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/46442 seems to be better value for money. Better CPU, GPU and more RAM.

    • +1

And $50 less plus free shipping

      • This notebook comes with a bigger screen size and windows 7 professional

        • +6

bigger screen size mean nothing if the pixel are the same

        • +3

15.6 is even cheaper than 14 inch

    • +1

i guess an extra year wty and no cotd might be a plus

  • great deal!!

  • chaep~

better brand then dell.. damn i wish I hadn't bought the dell xps 15z :P

    • +4

Really? Assuming you bought the recent i7 XPS, it has way better specs than this. Not to mention the option for that amazing 1920x1080 screen.

    • I wouldn't regret getting the xps 15z over this… (if you're into asus)
but maybe over this coming out =P http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/30/asus-outs-ux21-ultrathin-…

      • Very nice indeed, but not for those looking for a mobile gaming platform though. :)

        • all depends on what video card it has, because core i7 and sata 3 ssd are pretty beast.
though it is quite likely it'll just be integrated sandy bridge graphics.

  • I would go dell for the after sales support, they are really good.

I would definitely be buying the COTD deal over this one

    • But you would go for a Dell..? Really?

      • Dell and Asus are close they may as well be the same company lol

What difference are you insinuating cwong?

        • +1

How dare you compare ripoff Dell to Asus
got any solid backup for that.
Last tome I saw the companies that Asus(alpha) the OEM department manufactures for is Apple and some Sony Laptops and used to make the Old lenovos( the ones that had better build quality than the new ones)

Also most motherboards as well and few of the chassis for the companies.
          Yes Asus fanboy here

        • ASUS are an ODM - Original Design Manufacturer.
          ASUS > Dell anyday.

  • you guys know these things have 4 ram slots?
pretty cheap to upgrade to 16gb and you got a decent machine for video/audio work.

    • 4?!!? OMG serious?

      • sarcasm??
most notebooks would usually only have 2 unless they are high end mammoths.
