Of course, irrespective of whether you buy the Pro or standard model it's still illegal to ride (in PUBLIC) in all states but QLD.

One would think this would be included in the listing.

This is bizarre, as Queensland is renowned as the nanny state…
But hey, I am not complaining!

      • Probably because it's more car centric lol.

        • Would have thought the opposite would be true. Wouldn’t a less car centric state be more interested in persuing zero carbon transport options (ebikes, escooters, etc)?

      • +4

Pretty sure that's NSW. QLD is the bogan state.

  • Grabbed one of these in the last sale. Just be advised it did take 8 days to arrive

Also grabbed the pro in the last sale.

Have been riding it to work in Melbourne and have no issues with it being illegal. Have ridden past police multiple times.

As long as you don't draw attention to yourself by not wearing a helmet or being silly on the road.

Have also flashed new firmware and increased top speed to 30km/h

  • How is walking with one of these things, say through busy streets? Are they a pita to carry?

    • +1

Would not do it for long periods of time. Much easier to roll it while upright with the engine off.

They arent awkward, just heavy after more than 5 minutes.

  • ask for the serial number if you buy.
    some of these were recalled..

not to say that they're not the best on this price range

    • So you're saying they are the best at that price range?

    • +2

The affected serial numbers (S/N) range from: 21074/00000316 - 21074/00015107 and 16133/00541209 - 16133/00544518. Our S/N was not included at recall range.

    • +1

The one I got from gearbite months ago wasn't affected. The affected ones are quite old models so safe to assume they are all good

    Question for Gearbite:
How does warranty work for the scooter? For example, you said the recall does not affect your batch, but if it did, what would the recall/warranty process be?

Do we have to send the item back to you at our own cost?

    Thanks

    • +3

If in this case, Will create return label with our cost.
