just get them to scan the aero and sim and the price on the register corrects automatically

Thanks for the tip! Went back down there and grabbed both the Aero for $2.60 and asked for the Boost starter pack and when he scanned both, the total was $2.60. The expression on the guy's face was priceless!

Where does it say this on the 711 or Boost website?

  • -7

What? How does this work? The boost website doesn't have any details on what 19.95 gets you, how much calls cost etc. How much data? What does $20 MyCredit mean? Is that the rates under Supercap? What is $130 MyBonus? Why isn't the $199.95 SIM offer linked to costs and charges? Or linked to something?
    Is this a real website?
I admit that getting a few calls for the cost of a chocolate bar is good, but I don't understand the offer and wonder what they charge me if I go over?

FYI I frequently swap between carriers and am familar with the complexities of these offers but come on, this must be a new level of confusion.

The Boost site shows the plans available and costs associated with each. Open your eyes, surprisingly enough, the details are under the 'plans' tab. http://www.boost.com.au/products/plans/overview

You can't go over on pre-paid, so how are you going to get charged extra?

      • -3

So what you are saying is the plans at http://www.boost.com.au/products/plans/overview are the plans. I presume that is the Supercap plan, at the top, as there are several plans and none of them refer to either 19.95, or mybonus of $130. Also, I asked if it was the Supercap plan but you didn't confirm, just posted a link, and a few negs.
Why is there no link from the 19.95 plan on the sim page to the costs page? Sorry but it is not clear. Linking would be good. Also I wanted the T&C's of the offer. Most of these plans require a credit card so I am cautious about giving out details without seeing the terms of the offer.

These were my specific issues. Not the quality of the bargain.
So as long as you guarentee (because the data on this site and the boost site does not) that the terms are as the Supercap and no need to pay anything, and no possibility that the credit card will be charged, then I am happy! Might get a couple.

        • +1

Dude, theres a link to the T&C after each 'plan/cap' section. Im sure if any of us can find it, so can you. The $19.95 includes $20 worth of credit and you pick the plan that suits you and what Wallow72 said below.

Also, for people who are thinking of getting a new phone from Boost/BigW, you can get a $20 cashback http://www.boost.com.au/bigw

I don't understand. Its prepaid. All you do is activate the SIM pack and select the rate plan. There are no credit cards needed. When it runs out you can buy a voucher and recharge or toss it out. I just thought it was a good deal. $2.60 for $130 bucks worth of calls. Its a freebie from 7/11 and Boost. Get a couple. Activate them and make the calls.

        • yeh i paid $2.60 for like 5 days of unlimited calls/texts/mms

  • +3

Anyone else see the irony in getting it free with an Aero bar instead of a Cadbury Boost?

  • how long does the credit last for?

    • It depends on the rate plan you choose.

  • Brilliant - thanks OP!

    • yeh, ok at Manly. Expires Oct 2011. Can this be used for data?

  • I got it today. I couldn't find it on the shelf. Had to ask the person behind the counter who didn't know about the deal and asked a manager. All good in the end.

  • looks like longest is 60 days. Might get another one on the weekend.

Brilliant deal! Bought 4 cards. The guy behind the counter knew nothing of the deal. Should have seen his WTF face after the price went from $79.80 to $12 once he scanned the Aero bars. Priceless. :)

  • this one totally works despite the suspect "conditions" but the look on the guy's face is classic. double take and all

  • can you use the sim pack as a recharge?
