Spec from the site:
15" gaming laptop engineered with NVIDIA® GeForce® discrete graphics, 8th Gen Intel® processors and thin design for the ultimate immersive gaming experience.

RRP Price: AU $1,999.00

Looks like a good alternative to the Lenovo Ideapad deal. This version has older CPU and GPU than the Lenovo, but comes with 16GB RAM and 1TB drive. No USB C as far as I can see.

  • The specs around the graphics card are fantastic. Just not the graphics card itself lol.

Shame about the GPU. If that 1050ti was a 1060 or even 1650 that would be a killer deal.

There are a few sacrifices but I still feel the Dell G3 with an i5-9300H, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, GTX1660Ti for $1359 is a better deal (depends on your budget obviously)

I think this one is far better deal too, also you can chat and make the ram to be 1X8Gb, and you can add another 8Gb ram in future if needed too.

      • Great tip!

      • Chat how? this is eBay, there is no chat with seller.

Contact seller, an option to the right in desktop mode.

    • Wow that's a phenomenal deal! I'm so tempted but don't need it… ugh!

Edit: ok I'm holding off. Don't need it don't need it don't need it. Damn you OzB!

Edit edit: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Dell-G5-15-Gaming-Laptop-8th… this seems like a great deal too — 2060 RTX for ~$1800, add in TRS for ~$1600 and damn…

      • very powerful gpu will take toll on the battery, no?

Obviously under load yes, but it has no Gsync so it should switch to integrated when not on load. The tech's called Nvidia Optimus if you'd like to read more about it.

Your best bet would be to buy a lower spec SSD model and upgrade yourself (the deal above is still a better deal):

        • These aren't really meant for portability. I don't know of many gaming laptops that have decent battery lives.

    • Hi,

I don't know too much about the specs but do you think the Dell G5 15 is better or not really? Thanks

$80 more is worth it for the 1660 and i5-9300H

  • Does anyone know if they are more flexible with customisation than they show on the website? For instance could I order it with no hard drive as I already have an SSD but then upgrade the video card?

    • You can probably try asking them on their website chat system, but I'd be very very surprised if they shipped a laptop with no storage.

    lol… RRP $2K for a 1050ti lappy!

I'll never go back to Dell.

    For that price I recently got 2060, 9750H, 2x8GB, 1TB PCI-E SSD, 120Hz in an MSI.

Build quality difference is night and day… no more wonky Dell keys that fault, or scratchy plastic, or crapy hinges.

I reckon regardless of other specs, I would say never go HDD, must get SSD. Near instantaneous booting and loading is a massive step up in functionality.

Some body didn't even read the post, the price is $1,135.2, not $2k.
