    Boom, ordered.
Thanks heaps OP, was super bummed that I missed out on the Sony's yesterday so jumped on these right away.

  • +4

Not bad. but the Sony's were a hell of a deal at $289 I reckon

  • Great price on these !!

  • And is it still 12% cash back from shopback?

  • +13

Works out to be $295 or so with ShopBack. I bought a pair of these about 2 years ago and they're by far one of the best electronic purchases I've made in my life. If anyone is sitting on the fence about these I can strongly recommend they're worth every dollar.

    • That good? I'm debating as i already have a pair of sound sport free, which is great for the gym!

      • +4

I got them because I was working in a really noisy office and the noise cancelling just blocked everyone out entirely which made me really productive. The thing that I don't see a lot of people say when reviewing these headphones is the battery life. You can charge these for maybe half an hour and get easily a full day use out of it (despite only using Micro USB). I use them on my computer as well they pair perfectly with a bluetooth dongle or with laptops that have bluetooth built in. They can also pair to two devices so you can pair them to your laptop when you're at home and to your tablet for watching anything before you go to sleep.

        • Thank you for the great review!
          Which colour? :)

          • @MR-AM: I went with black. I didn't take good care of them for a while so they have some scuff marks, use the amazing case they provide.

    • Another good function is the support of Google assistant. The headphone can read out your WhatsApp message when you are watching Netflix in full screen on the phone, you don't have to jump out the screen and you can reply with your voice.
      I found it useful.

Surely by now each and every OzBargainer would have either the Bose QC35II or the Sony WH-1000XM3? :D

    • +1

      I'm on the $180 Plantronics backbeat pro 2's. I reckon they're awesome.

Edit: think they've been as low as $120

      • +1

They are good but sound and nc are much better on Bose & Sony.

      • I have the Pro 2's too and find them ok.The main reason I pulled the trigger finally on the QC35s today is the NC on the pro's is average at best, but mainly because wearing them for longer than an hour or so is quite uncomfortable - the squeeze on the headband is just a bit too much for my fat head

        • Good choice then, I can wear my QC35s all day.

    • +2

Not everyone is a Bose fan. To some their products sound too artificial and polished.

    • I am on Audio-Technica ATHM50XBT, regret having paid the same price as the this bose ones on sale.

      • +6

want to know what hurts more.

        They are $209 atm

      • +1

The ATHM50XBT are a better sounding headphone than both of these if it's any consolation.

        • Yup, one reason I went for ATHM50XBT and other is the noise cancelling does my head in. I had vertigo few times and still trips me out using the noise cancelling headphones, also for some reason with noise cancelling the audio does not seem natural, may be its just me and my ears.

    • +1

I am still waiting for my $16 headphone

    • Still rocking the XM1 so haven't been tempted yet.

The headband has cracked twice but super glue has come to the rescue.

    • Surely by now each and every OzBargainer would have either the Bose QC35II or the Sony WH-1000XM3? :D

I use STAX SR-L700 with a SR-353X Energizer. I will pass on these but I do see the appeal of walking to my fridge and back to my desk unhindered…

Thank you. I've been wanting a pair of these and heading overseas in a few weeks means I can claim TRS as well. With cashback that makes them $267.87.

    • How many percent cashback do you normally get with TRS?

      • +1

TRS is the Tourist Refund Scheme. If you're flying out of the country you can claim the GST back. So you divide the purchase price by 11 and that will be refunded to you.

      • edit. see above

      • +1

You get back about 9.1% of the total price (Inc GST) of the good as you're claiming back the GST portion of the good.

  • +1

Great deal on these headphones. I'd suggest holding off on the firmware update though as some have reported that the ANC is not as good. I have also had this affect mine.

  • -2

These are ancient wth microUSB. Forget it.

    • -1

Agreed.. so many new headphones coming out with USB-C ports

    • +7

It's for charging and firmware updates. Who cares?

      • Everytime I charge with micro USB it's very painful

        • You must be doing it wrong then

  • +3

Just out of curiosity, are people aware that Bose has released a new model of headphones? These will probably continue to get cheaper in the near future.

    • +2

      Yes

    • +1

yes, and I am waiting for that model so won't be buying this as I already have them. They are very good headphones. Very comfortable.

    • +1

      yes

    • Of course

  • +2

I'm also waiting for the new Bose 700 headphone. I lost my QC35 II headphones after only a few months of ownership so feel like an upgrade is needed to justify spending on this again.

PS If anybody finds a pair of QC35 II headphones lying around then please let me know!

  • -2

Just my 2 cents for those thinking about buying these versus the Sony's. You might want to double check Bose's support, as they usually don't repair headphones, and genuine replacement parts are not generally available (not at a sensible price anyway). What they will do is offer you a little discount on the RRP on a new or refurbished pair, which would cost more than the buying a new pair from any reputable seller.
I'm not sure about Sony's support, but I don't think it could be any worse.

    • My only gripe with the Sony is they only support one bluetooth device at a time.

    • +1

Interesting, how old were your headphones when you needed them replaced? I had mine malfunction and they got back to me in 2 days and said to send them back and they'll give me a new pair, no questions asked also with shipping paid for.

      • mine were about 2 years old, but still looking pretty new, as I only used them in the office. If you google it though, there are plenty of complaints from people that had the same issue (basically a dead speaker) and got the same reply I mentioned earlier.
Other brands also make it impossible or not financially sensible to get replacement parts, even for things like headbands and ear pads, that are subject to wear and will need to be replaced within a months of use (e.g. ATH-M50).

  • +1

This was good price but not great. Considering it was like once a year "prime" day deal I expected less than $300 before cash rewards.

  • Damn this is exactly what I wanted :( but missed out.

  • +1

Just dont update firmware, it kills the noise cancelling performance
