Rated to 150Mbps, Gizmodo got 142 read/87 write speeds.

  • description says 16GB :S

    • Should be alright, $15 is the normal price for 64GB and they had the same deal for prime day. Take a screenshot just to be safe.

MSY on Amazon? What is this madness?! :P

    • +11

I reckon MSY are moving towards throwing the towel in on their website. They figure Amazon has already worked out this new-fandangled 'online shopping' thing so they'll just pay them to look after it :)

Next thing MSY will be selling excess Sri Lankan graphite on Amazon…

MSY was threw this in as free gift when you buy a 32GB one a couple weeks back.

Did not know MSY had an Amazon store. But this was a freebie when you bought a 32GB stick a little while ago, and for just $10. Not too bad for Prime shipping if you missed out on that though.

  • Has the deal ended? The price showed $15 in cart.

Still going. Do you have prime? Make sure you click on the lightning deal $10.50 option instead of regular price $15 option on the listing page.

      • Thank you, I just have to switch back my delivery address to AU.

Coming up as $10.50 for me mate. Only if you have Prime, starts in 2 mins for those without Prime. Only 5% claimed as of now.

  • Looks like my motherboard will support it, so why not?

    Cheers for the post.

  • Thanks OP. Purchased one.

My neighbor bought one of these previously and I borrowed it to speed test it.
Take note, this device gets HOT, and yes I mean really HOT!

Transferring a 2GB zip file the speed constant rate was never higher than 20MB
For the most part, it toggled between 12 MB to 18 MB at best!

I know its only $10 but what concerns me if you have a $2K laptop I wouldn't want a port to also overheat, I believe these particular devices are defective IMO as the heat, the data rate and the threat to your hardware is dismal.

  • Would this work with iPad Pro?

If you installed your beta iPad os or wait till the official release in September

      • Hmmm Beta OS? link please!

        • +4

if you need to know the link then you don't need to install it.

        • +2

You have to sign up beta iPad os via Apple website from you Apple ID, remember to back up you ipad before hand, the beta can be unstable since it’s not the official release, once you sign up then you can update beta on your iPad through update in setting.

      That's the OzBargain spirit!

  • anyone know of deal for a cheap price on a cable/ or converter to connect C to USB 3 mini or standard?

  • Got this in the previous 'buy 1 get 1 free' deal via MSY - can confirm the average speeds noted above, and how very hot it gets when transferring big files for longer than 10-15 seconds… maybe that's why these are (relatively) cheap?

    • great price, but you get what you pay for

  • Warning.. it's really slow and gets very hot.

Damn… bought 2 at $15 each and thought I got a deal. This is a bargain. I've already used it about 8 times within a week. Super useful for getting stuff in and out of the phone. Don't listen to the people who say it gets hot or whatever - it's not like you're using it to the point where heat is an issue. It works and it's fine.

    • Those guys are probably running complex AI macro's on the poor bugger and expect these usb's to have a internal cooling system, all at $10

Hahaha - It would probably cause a nuclear meltdown if you tried that…

I burnt my fingers just backing up some Word documents for work…

But since it came "free" with my $10 32GB, I am not sure I will demand a refund of $0

    • I transfered 50gb to mine in one go and agree that the heat shouldn't be an issue, it got hot enough to be uncomfortable to touch but that's pretty much because the aluminium makes the case a heatsink. I found the transfer averaged at 18mb/s and topped out at 55mb/s for large files.

  • thx. just bought one. now i just need to find a computer with type c port……..
