You need to put the price on title 😂

  • Good job, op

Maybe this price will be the new standard with the 700s now boses top model?

      Dafaq u on about

Hahaha sorry what I meant to say was, if you really want a pink version, you can get the QC25 which is the non wireless v, and plug in a small Bluetooth module to it to make it wireless.

Then you can use the many diff types, of rustoleum branded spray, made for this type of project which I've used for custom painting my Sonos play one, and protect the parts you don't want to spray with some masking tape :)

        (or get a skin)

        Haha
My bad first comment made a lot of short cuts

        Gold, pure gold

        • +2

          No, OP said Rose gold

Or just buy this and cut all the hassle in between?
Or maybe don't buy it and save $345?

      • -4

If you have plenty of the stuff lying around, from DIY stuff

Bunnings or ebay for the rustoleum spray

And I used the Bluetooth adapter which I had that I take with me when traveling, in case I want to play music in an airbnb/ hotel via ipod dock or TV

Takes literally 1 coat or 2,
20 seconds of spray time with 10-20 min wait between 2 coats

Plug in adapter (or don't and keep it wired if QC25)

It really, really isn't a hassle. I would've thought that too if I hadn't tried it. I would encourage people to give this a go even if it's on some old tech first :)

        Was just trying to help!

Link some photos hahaha, this sounds extremely diy

          • @DecoAus: Actually will do, please remind me if I forget by tomorrow night

It's at my office (Sonos Speaker)

It's legit lol and definitely doesn't look DIY but it is

Such a hassle to save a few bucks. How about skipping a few meals at Macca's and getting the real thing.

      • The qc25 is more comfy for me when at a desk, because it’s lighter without all the wireless stuff.

  • +4

I would have bought the qc35 if it was using the AAA battery like the qc25.

    • +2

With over 20 hour battery life, I've never been caught with my headphones out of battery? If you really are concerned, just bring a power bank, and use without Noise cancellation for 15 mins or so.

      • +1

Battery life is probably more than 20 hours, as I’ve used them on a return trip to Europe and didn’t need to charge. I’m really impressed with the performance actually

      • Not the battery life that I am worried about. It is the replacement when the battery died in 2 years. My QC25 sounds awful without NC being turn on while my Sony 1000xm3 sounds fine without battery. I don't have the QC35 to compare with.

        • Exactly. Who wants to spend hundreds of dollars on something which may not be fully functional in two years.

        • +1

Two years is a very short time. I’ve had my QC20’s for 5 years and the battery is still okay. Plenty of other things have gone wrong with it (aware button stopped working years ago, the silicone cover has peeled off the battery module, cables are fraying at the connections, and one of the earbuds is producing a hum), but the battery is not one of them.

Interestingly my experience with the WH1000XM3 has not been the same as yours. To me, the sound is terrible when it’s switched off and used with a cable. That’s been observed in other reviews too. It really needs to be switched on (wirelessly or not) for the DSP to produce good audio.

  • Good deal if you missed out on $333 rose gold from HN last month, but only because it’s a limited edition colour.

  • Used these for a couple of years not even everyday and the ear covers are falls apart, pretty shitty for such expensive headphones.

  • +2

Guys … These have an ancient Micro USB connection .. such a hassle .. get the Sony or Bose 700.

    • +6

      "Guys…pay $225 extra for USB-C convenience".

    • bahaha not again, you a parrot?

      • just helping the ozbargainers to avoid this old tech crap.

  • +1

Shopback 4.5% with Amazon - Do I have that right?

  • LOL rose gold.

  • +1

You couldn't tempt me to use anything in a rose gold colorway, especially if its primary use revolves around it being prominently displayed on your head.

    • Can we try?

    • There was a girl with a set of these on the bus the other day. I was impressed because 1) she had bought QC35 II, and 2) she quite frankly was a babe. And she still was a babe even with rose gold headphones.

      • +1

        Schwing?

  • I don’t know why Bose is taking its time with the 700. Once it’s out, I will then have to wait for price to drop below $400. Damn

  • +2

Today while I was using my QC35s the app decided to download firmware v4.5.2

I allowed it to update. What a tragic mistake. It has screwed noise cancelling. Before the update, with headphones on but not playing music, all background noise was silenced. After the update it's like anc isn't on at all. I played a YouTube video before of white noise from a plane, and even with it soft, anc does nothing to silence it. Of course playing music blots it out. I'll use them on the bus tomorrow and see how it is. Poor performance by Bose
I'm really not happy at all. Fortunately I have some Sony xm3s being delivered on Tuesday.

    • +1

Sorry but this always happens. Never update. Ever.

  • Before update anything, check online first. Even update Gmail app Might broken your notification.this is what I have learnt not too long ago

  • Thank you so much; have been looking for these for a while now. Bought it:)

  • so many people actually reviewed this on amazon.au ?!?

  • Will this be adjustable for babies?

  • Bought a set for my daughter over the weekend when I saw this price come up. She loves the hideous colour & this was the best I'd seen for them so went with it. She thinks her mum's black QC35II are comfier than my XM3s so it should be all good for our next holiday.

Edit: Cashrewards says $10.98 cash back on the pre-GST price, so that's better than a kick in the head I guess.
