    what's the price?

  • +4

price is good, but with $50 shipping makes it same/more expensive than UK/US import

    • agree - hopefully ppl will use the $25 voucher to make up for it.

  • +1

695$ shipped? if not include that in title…

    • lol neg me? I guess 695$ would be decent.. but if 50$ postage.. to much

ShoppingSquare is ridiculous. It doesn't cost that much to ship a package from the UK with frickin' Fedex.

While the above might be a good deal for some, you can import a Galaxy S II from Handtec.co.uk for approximately AUD667.36 including shipping (NB: I used my 28 Degrees Mastercard to avoid foreign exchange fees).

    • I've seen lots of people getting their SGS2 from Handtec.
How's the warranty? I mean is it international? Cheers

      • UK 2 years as opposed to this warranty is carried by shopping square not samsung australia. Dont know how is shopping squares warranty work. I guess if you have problem with the phone you call shopping square hope they really have tech department thats pro enough to answer u?

UK 2 years from handtec? I guess that means you gotta ship your phone to UK if there's a problem.

Thanks for letting me know about shopping square. I was only interested in what handtec does.

I guess i'll just take the 2 year "slavery" when Telstra releases this.

        • haha yea I am still waiting for their pricing!

    • do we have to pay GST/any tax when it arrives in australia ?

      • +2

no, nor do we pay VAT from purchases from the UK

        • thanks. i knew that we don't have to pay the UK VAT but I had always though that when we buy stuff overseas, we have to pay 10% AU GST if the item is worth more than 500au

      • +1

        No GST unless over $1000.

I'd get it from Vodafone on 12 months plan and pay around $768 for the whole 12 months and get some credit LOL

But I'm waiting for Telstra to release this in July.

    • there are ppl getting better deal on vodafone. they call and negotiate, there are ppl getting 10bucks handset + 49cap with 10% every month effectively less than 700 ;) ONLY if you can deal with vodafone's network

      • I totally agree.
I've been with 3 and am now with Optus.

I use Telstra prepaid mobile wifi and this is so much satisfying.
That's why I'm going with Telstra soon.

        I hate other networks.
Optus is not bad as long as it doesn't get disconnected time to time and sometimes it takes ages to respond.
Speed wise it's much better than 3/Voda

        • Anything but Telstra is 3rd rate, plain and simple. Telstra have brought their mobile plans down significantly in the last year or so… it's now a no brainer. The Optus network is downright pathetic.

      • jasecs, $49 a month + $10 handset cost, and then another 10% off that?
how on earth do they negotiate that..

        • just call…really depend on your negotiation skill. i know i will fail for sure. not someone good in that aspect.
