If you're with Telstra and managed to take advantage of this offer to get either $75 or $110 free credit to use on movies with Telstra Tv Box Office then this deal makes it even better. Some of the selected movies on offer are new releases that would normally be up to $6.99 to rent.

  • This service is so crap. Made multiple purchases to try on different devices, apps and browsers and had nothing but issues just getting it to work.

    • I was under the impression you can only watch on a Telstra TV.

I've watched on my Samsung TV before which has the Telstra box office app.

        • Same here

Really? I used some of my credit to watch Hotel Mumbai last night. Chromecasted it and worked like a charm.

Very happy. Would be nice to have an Android TV app though.

Not hating on any particular service, I'm just curious; people who rent movies digitally, why do you do so?

    • I would never myself but seeming I got given free credit and the service offers new release movies, why not take advantage of it?

    • Yeah I'm the same, I'm open to things, just don't see value in this one as much. I guess if you can't wait for streaming services, but I'd imagine most would just pirate those anyway.

      • Decent movies don't come out on streaming services or they do but you're not subscribed to that particular streaming service.

I also use my Google rewards credit to buy what I I want. I generally don't pay.

Price is far too steep though. Should be no more than $4 though for a new one release and $2 for a movie that's been out for over 2 ywars.

  • I see that "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" is in the Telstra TV Box Office for $2.99 rental in HD but is currently 99 cents on iTunes in 4K (assuming you have an Apple TV 4K, which I do).

    • Does iTunes have free credit though?

      • On rare occasions in the past, Apple has added 10% additional credit to iTunes accounts when they were topped up, so I guess the answer to your question is "Yes".

        • On rare occasions

Well pretty much everyone who has a Telstra account and joined Telstra Plus has at least $75 of free credits. So you can watch the shows you mentioned on iTunes for free on the Telstra TV.

          • @jv: Not people that only have 1 bill with Telstra as you need a monthly bill total of at least $125.
