  • Lenovo IdeaCentre 700 is already sold.

    • Yoga 720 13.3" and Tab 4 also.

27 inch screens gone now too, watched em go while contemplating ….

    • Was just about to post that had sold.

    • :(

  • Cheers OP, needed a screen to work from home.

    • +2

You might need to go 50 inch+.

      • -2

overkill much? i could use the 65inch TV but this is better :)

      • +3

        Plus a pair of binoculars

  • 'Reconditioned' just means 'used' right? One of those models is more than 3 years old.

    • +6

Used and they cleaned the dust off it

    • +2

Wiped the sticky stuff from the screen

    • Not reco'd at all. See my comment below.

Got 2 of the freesync version for $160 each (down from $200) some time ago and didn't have any marks on either. Not the first time they have these so keep an eye out of you've missed.
Had them again today but only a couple when I've seen.

Hot damn i missed the deal, needed a cheap monitor my ps4 :(

Just bought the IdeaPad 330S for $599, couldn't resist a FHD/i7-8550U/256GB NVMe's speeds compared to my 2014 Toshiba non FHD, slowing old low end i5! Hopefully not too scratched/marked and with 12m warranty on a refurb, should be very decent and 4k compliant ;)

    • 256GB storage only though. Will have to wait till the 12 months warranty lapses to open it up and chuck a extra drive in there.

    • And I read 4gb ram is soldered?

Had my eye on those Lenovo Tab 4's yesterday but all 3 sold that day. Good bargain, but there are also the Lenovo Tab 4 Plus 3GB/16GB versions in white for $182 left.

  • Did anyone purchase similar notebooks from Grays? How's the quality?
It is rather "barely used" or "went through a travelling sales team's hands for a year" ?

    • +2

IMO, don't touch them. I bought two for work, both had to be returned due to broken screen connectors (one was refunded, the other was repaired).

They are not refurbished at all - they clearly only visually check them, whack a bunch of massive impossible-to-remove stickers on the back of then, scratch off the serial number (??) and put them up for sale.

The only positive I can say is that they dealt with both returns without arguing, but it was still ~3 weeks from start to resolution.

      Buyer beware.

      • I bought Thinkpad E490 (marked as 'reconditioned') - no marks on chassis but really bad small scratch on the screen and irremovable 'graysonline' stickers on the back cover protecting screws from being removed so you can't upgrade anything. No original Lenovo box, no original papers - seemed like buying a used stuff. Didn't bother to return. However, few weeks ago I bought E490S marked as 'new/opened/ resealed' - came brand new in original Lenovo box with all Lenovo paper work, sealed by Lenovo and without Graysonline stickers anywhere - literally like buying from Lenovo - no complaints on that one.

      • hcca - damn, which models exactly? you got me worried now , im hoping mine is fine like most of the other comment here…. couldnt resist the price/specs! esp FHD, i7 and m2 ssd!

        • Well, it's a hit and miss though, same with Nvme SSD Lenovo uses - you never know what's inside and Graysonline will not confirm that for you either. Sometimes they put in really slow and cheap Nvme SSD's and you get speed like on SATA ssd's (anyway, it's something you can always replace). Please mind that E480, E490 and E490S Nvme using only 2 lanes so you're not gonna get full speed.

        • Yoga 730s. You might be fine, but I think you need to approach it with the attitude that you might have to return it. The bigger problem I have is that they're lying about what they're selling.

can be hit & miss at times, Ive purchased about 7 over the years, some have come as new condition, only had 1 issue bad screen was replaced took about 2 weeks, worst case you get a refund, prices are very fair for the specs

    • +1

I had bought one 6-7 yrs back but it was HP..i7 with 8gig RAM, 15" screen - still going strong……

    • +1

I bought a Yoga 920 from them last year and it was in excellent condition, it only gets light use but it’s been perfect, no complaints.

    • +1

I ordered a 330 or 330s for a mate to do basic home office tasks. Delivered to me and I was very pleased at the condition. Still going a year later afaik.

  • I have that Lenovo’s legion - I put a new PSU and GPU in it and it’s a beast!

Aware of the possible common issues with Grays refurbs, but am willing to give it a shot at this price. If anything is amiss I can just get a full refund and move on.

  • I wonder if warranty is with Lenovo or Grays?

    • +1

its with grays, sometimes you get lucky & the lenovo warranty is still active, one that I got in the past had 3 years Premier Support on it lol

      • how can you check if it has lenovo warranty on it?

        • +1

serial number sticker on back of device, but some come with it removed/cut out

          lenovo warranty check link

          • @RogueWolf: I bought may,, not only lenovo,( Dell/HP/Acer) but all came with serial scratched/removed..

            • +1

@chutibuti: they never used to in the past, guess they caught on warranty was still active lol

            • @chutibuti: can you get the serial from the bios?

              • +1

@mmjjbb: Or by running its own diagnosis software (I know dell has it, which scan analyst your system and found the correct model serial warranty status updated bios drivers etc)

                • +2

@CyberMurning: yeah but if you send it to lenovo for repairs with serial number scratched/cut out, likely they will reject it

                  • +2

@RogueWolf: yes ,, exactly what happened to me.. they requested a pic with the serial no.. which i could not provide..

              • +1

@mmjjbb: Usually yes. I did that on the two we received (physically scratch off the back of the units). Lenovo website listed them as no warranty.

        • +1

thanks all, FYI received unit today, mint condition but does have the seriel scratched, checked online and confirm warranty is void.

Lenovo 45watt charger can be used with the upcoming Note 10+?

  • Ah… The legion laptop so tempted is it a good one?… I regretted missed out on g5 $999

This is not new and comes with every other eBay 20% sale. Gray Online have discounted models for sale declaring that the product is 50% off (of the price of the laptop 3 years ago). It would be hard to find these laptops for sale anywhere currently.

I Recently read in the RACV Mag that there's a Not For Profit organization selling Refurb Laptops & Computers to Concession (low income, Student) for really good prices.

  • I need that think vision!

  • Sigh… Thought I got lucky and got a laptop that did not have any issues. Unfortunately today I discovered there is a possible loose connection with the power button as when pressure is applied to the top right corner of the laptop screen, the laptop goes to sleep. Quite disappointing and I have already contacted Grays in regards to a refund/remedy.
