    where are the vouchers?

      • oh sorry i didnt realize they were app only, i thought it was the usual sheet of vouchers that is posted :)

        • saw your edit - is there a second page?
      • +1

That's the app vouchers though, not the full voucher list

        • Are you sure they're not just being stingey?

        • +5

There is no full voucher list by the looks of it, on their website "Our coupons have gone digital, with even more ways to satisfy your craving for Hungry Jack’s. Get access to exclusive vouchers, great discounts and free food – all from the new HJ’s app on your mobile!"

Then a link to the PDF with 4 deals.

          Booooooo.

          • +11

@freefall101: Another one here who relies heavily on vouchers to treat the kids and myself with some HJ from time to time.

Betting that this new stingy voucher approach is going to hit their custom big time.

Certainly know I will be hitting them up less often now.

            • +2

@Matt2024: On the upside, the four listed deals are $0.05 cheaper than the last vouchers! 🤣🙄

          • @freefall101: They've gone digital ages ago. Haven't used a paper hj voucher for over a year.

            • @imcold: Yes, phone was ok too, but the point they're making is that it's now app only to get coupons, which means the PDF/image is gone.

    • Edit - resolved.

  • +14

    This is incredibly disappointing.

  • Is Phone (without App) ok ?

    • +1

No. For ordering in the shop, they have to scan a barcode in the app to apply the discounted price to the item. Buying in the app is just hitting another button in the app for it to be automatically applied.

      • Thanks. Guess it's a good thing too! we should eat less of this crap anyway. Win-win :-)

  • +1

    Disappointing.

  • +4

Hungry jacks is losing me, if this is the deal, I rather go to Maccas !!

  • +10

Wow Hungry Jack's. You've really outdone yourself this time.

The only thing that they had on McDonald's was price, and now they don't even have that anymore.

    I'm getting a 4 for $4 instead.

    • +6

Disagree - the burgers are substantially better tasting (the difference becomes more pronounced as you go up the 'tiers' of burgers).

I think whopper Jrs are also great (i prefer the ratio of meat/vegetables/bun on whopper Jrs compared to regular whoppers recently).

  • +3

    Wait,so they dont renew everyday?

Its one off use per month only?

    • +4

Good question. If it's like their previous app vouchers, then yes.

That makes this "deal" even more of a non-starter! 😤

    • From their newsletter email today:

Offers valid one time only and at participating Hungry Jack’s restaurants. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer. Offer may be removed at any time at Hungry Jack’s discretion. Refer to voucher for more conditions.

      • +1

        sad….

  • +11

What's even the point of going to HJs anymore

    • You'll be tasting the same food but getting less for your $? Maybe you'll lose some weight.

  • +10

This is insane. The 2x Whopper Jr & Chips voucher was a staple deal for me if I was ever stuck for a quick meal on the run. Between their weekly app vouchers and seasonal menu deals, Macca's is definitely the better value option now! Bizarro world!

    • me too .. not happy that its gone

      • +4

Doesn't help that their app is the biggest POS of them all. It logs me out each time, and often bugs out when trying to Shake & Win. Their marketing team should be fired… from a canon.

I sent them an email regarding the change – unlikely to help, but you never know.

        • Update: their response (that was fast!)

Thankyou for your Feedback. We have passed your comments regarding the paper Vouchers and the App Vouchers on to our Marketing Team.

          • @itsfree: If enough people complain hopefully they'll revert, just like the sauces.

            • @capslock janitor: Yep. I've stopped buying anything from them out of principle.

(Remind me again - what happened with the sauces?)

              • +2

@itsfree: Last year or earlier this year - they "recontracted" with a different Sauce supplier.
The tiny tubs were same style as Maccas, but tasted crap!
After a couple of months or so they changed back again to the current sauces we see and taste today because lots of unhappy customers thru social media etc.
                Amen.

I suggest you complain publicly on their Facebook page too. Which reminds me I'm gonna post there rn.

                • +1

@capslock janitor: The only time I’ll go to Hungry Jacks now is probably when I get free shit from the Spin and Win

Dont know about Hungry Jacks but last week I complained about KFC not filling frozen mountain jew to the appropriate full line and they gave me $3 conpensation

                  • @I Smell Pennies: Nice did you complain on the spot or where?

                    • +1

@capslock janitor: The online survey. Then general manager emailed saying sorry and everything.. they would train staff better etc, and a $3 voucher :)

                      • +1

@I Smell Pennies: Good to see they actually look at that… I used to type nonsense on some of them just to get thru to the Free C&D :O
Well at least KFC is doing something well. They're the best with the "survey receipts" instant code and honoured like 99% of the time.
Not waiting for email like Maccas code nor HJ which some franchisee's "aren't participating" though they print receipt with instructions.

  • +1

So I installed their app and went to the vouchers section. No vouchers currently available.
    ?

    • It's showing for me when I tap the bottom right button…

      • +1

Yeah, now it's showing up for me too. Guess it takes a few minutes to register.

  • +3

I guess it makes more sense to have them on the App. But… 4 piddling deals now? Pchah!

    • Yeah, the separate items they had in the system before was very easily abused by staff (and impossible to tell if people had already redeemed that day), so their stock management and ability to tell how well the deals were actually doing were probably crap, which wouldn't have helped us getting to the current situation at all…

  • +2

    So its once a month???

    • From their email today:

Offers valid one time only and at participating Hungry Jack’s restaurants. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer. Offer may be removed at any time at Hungry Jack’s discretion. Refer to voucher for more conditions.

    • The vouchers appear to only be able to be used once per promotional period. D: Purchased 2 Whoppers with the voucher yesterday and it's still not back in the app more than 24 hours later…..

      Not happy Jan.

  • +5

Is this really the end? Smh…

  • +5

RIP HJ's. Long Live my heart.

  • +1

What a wonderful app, I register through the app, wait for my verification email, never comes!

    GG Hungry Jacks. Awesome app.

    • -1

      Check spam.

      • -1

That's the first thing I did. Two isp email addresses received nothing, but the third one did.

  • +13

    RIP HJ's.

Let's see how long it takes for them to realise a big drop in their revenue; then they'll bring it back.

  • +4

I went to Redcliffe WA, showing the pdf was not accepted.
The person said I had to show a barcode else it was full price.

No voucher shown in the app under "Vouchers" (using Android)

    • +1

Same for me at Roxborough park.

PHONE IS NO LONGER FINE! 😭😭

  • +2

The guy at my local won’t even punch in the new 4 vouchers saying it’s on the app. But I can’t even se wit on my app. Sigh. I hope they bring back the paper vouchers.

    • +1

Swipe right or click the $ down the bottom right.

  • are the app voucher, single use?

    • Yep!

      • +1

ahh that suxx, not going hj anymore

  • +6

    Goodbye, Hungry Jacks!

  • +2

Wow those deals are horrid compared to the full page one. Guess I'm going to Mickeys today.

  • +3

And HJs slides off the top of my Fast Food Pyramid

  • +2

Complete waste of time, no vouchers in apps

  • +3

    trumpet sounds

RIP Hungry Jacks physical vouchers, you did well to satisfy my cheap cravings.

    May you rest in peace.

    F

  • +2

    Oh dear.

  • Now what is my on-the-way-to-the-pub-need-something-in-my-stomach go to going to be? :(

  • +2

My dad doesn't have a smartphone but went to HJs at least twice a week.

Let's just say it's not going to happen like that anymore.

  • This sucks. I loved the old vouchers :((

  • +1

Use an App, no way - another former HJs customer here

  • +1

Every time I try and place an order through the app it just doesn't work, and have to walk up to the counter to scan my barcode I stead.

  • So not only are these single use, but you cannot use a shake and win code in the same transaction.

Also I found out the 10 nuggets and large chips came with 2 sauces but I don't think this new one does because the receipt didn't specify "no sauce" can anyone confirm?

    • +1

What's stopping you to shake/win and claim a voucher?

I claimed a soft serve shaken, and scanned an in-app voucher - no problems just have to tell them when ordering.

      "no sauce"

Here's a little story a while ago I ordered a Hunger tamer meal which comes with nuggets and sauce, but if you don't tell them at the box the receipt shows "no sauce" - so then I questioned the jerk he said it means doesn't come with sauce, and I told him it says that because you did not select any sauce.

(whereas at McD's they select Sweet-n-sour by default)

  • Confirming. HJ no longer have vouchers. This is so upsetting. Farewell Hungry Jack's.

  • +3

Bring back the vouchers you whopping pricks.

  • This sucks but i don't think it will hurt their profits much, since alot are open 24 hrs they get $ from those who are wanting late night munchies & on fri/sat nights probably too drunk to stuff around with vouchers. Also the aim is to make people pay full price, they still have their non voucher deals anyway for bargain hunters.

    • Also the aim is to make people pay full price,

True I first went to HJ coz they were somewhat cheaper and 'tastier' than McD at the time.
Back when they gave sauces for free, and soft serves were 10-20c cheaper than McD.

But now they charge for sauces too and Soft serve is still 10c cheaper but price still gone up.

Guess that's how the business works, rake people in then start bumping the prices eh.

Sometimes I just prefer the smokey "flame-grilled" taste there. And more than not doesn't seem to be as greasy as Ronald burgers. Just remind to Shake&Win

alot are open 24 hrs they get $

Shame they don't do All-Day breakfast though, I mean if they really wanna be level with competition…

      • +1

yep they don't start serving brekkie till 6am at the 24 hrs stores, you would think they start at around 5am. Sometimes i'm driving past at 5.30 & would like to grab some on the way to work.

  • +2

Sigh. First subway and now HJ. My Friday night junk night options are getting smaller and smaller.

  • +14

Tldr; The standard vouchers will be returning early October this year.

    Good morning [Whalesnails],

Thank you for providing your feedback via our website. We are taking a break with our standard vouchers for a few weeks whilst we encourage our customers to sign up with our Hungry Jack’s phone app to take advantage of the exclusive vouchers available on that platform. The standard vouchers will be returning early October this year.

    Kind regards,

    Hungry Jack's Pty Ltd

    • Well they're not offering much 'encouragement' to me with rubbish offers like the ones on this page.

  • +1

The 10 nuggets and large chips have been removed from my app voucher. That was the one thing that the kids could share but now that’s gone. Oh boy

  • +1

    RIP HJ

  • +1

So where do I go now for cheap fast food?? (other than KFC)

  • It looks like a lot of people providing feedback worked. Here's the response I got this morning ;)

"Thank you for providing your feedback via our website. We are taking a break with our standard vouchers for a few weeks whilst we encourage our customers to sign up with our Hungry Jack’s phone app to take advantage of the exclusive vouchers available on that platform. • +1

RIP. They are so out of touch with customers.

  • +1

Went to the trouble of installing the app and registering after the store guy told me no more paper vouchers will be accepted.
What a joke… no more value, no more Hungry Jacks.

This is going to kill their business.

Phone is definitely not fine :(.

  • I didn't realise the pdf vouchers were expired until I went to HJ tonight.

They were super good value. In particular the breakfast muffin meals.

Tonight, I Ordered 2 whoppers with cheese, I think they incorrectly charged me twice for the cheese (2 x 2 slices of cheese- $2). To top it off, cheese was missing on one of the cheeseburgers.

Hoping the pdf vouchers come back.

I'm happy to pay more than the pdf voucher prices as it's cheap, but the regular menu is overpriced.

  • +5

    Sorry terrible deal from HJ

  • Screw stupid app requirements.

  • +1

Nothing against OP but HJ's has really dropped the ball on this one
-> 4 offers (which aren't even good imo)
    -> app only
    -> single use
