Just noticed a price drop on this 49" TV and according to CamelCamelCamel, this is the lowest price it has been on Amazon (cheaper than the previous deal from May).

Already have a TV in outside studio but if I didn't would have picked one of these up.

How does this TV compare to Kogan's TVs?

    • +11

Not sure why this got so heavily negged, seems like a completely reasonable question to me.

Ozbargain is full of idiot trolls, roasting and negging common sense questions

“Full of”, so majority of us are ….? Accutually it not full there is still space for more Idiots!!!🤣🤪

      • I agree.
Does anyone know if Kogan still use Panasonic parts for the display? I recall this being a thing in the past? Correct if wrong

      • +2

Yeah I was really surprised by the response. I am pretty young and have never bought a tv before so was a legitimate question. Was pretty sad with the response I got originally. Just seeking proper advice before making a buy as I am not knowledgeable in this area. Im glad that I wasnt the only one that felt this

        • In my opinion, if you’re you are unsure and you bought a Kogan or this tv without comparison you would be fine with either. Life is all about comparing side to side and not many people can say they’ve done both.
Many people are super happy with Kogan tvs for their price and quality and choice. Some people are die hard amazon fans that won’t shop else where, that’s why you’re getting negged.

    • It's better than the Kogan, but for this price you might as well upgrade to a 55" and pay a little more (depending on the size of your room)
This is an entry level 4K TV in the name brands segment, you start to see a difference in the Sony X80F+ models.

Would Sony store price match Amazon?

Heard something about IPS panels something something. Can anyone confirm if still good?

    • IPS panels are good for viewing in angles. Also the neg part is that in Black scenes, it becomes grey-ish background (esp. The LG models)

Any one can confirm the warranty period? 1 year or 3 years?

1 year. (scroll down to Table 1)

I have one hanging in my kitchen. Compliments our 75 inch in the lounge quite well. 4k is great had foxtel v8s and F1 playing through it and picture is smooth.

Not sure what else you'd compare to. The menus are Android menus, love it or hate it, that's about it really.

    • The menus are Android menus

You sure it's this TV you own? The X70F series don't run on Android.

      • Hmm, it'll have to wait until I'm home as it was the latest 75 inch and latest 49 inch at the time. I believe it may have been the x75f. I remember at the time it confusing me because the numbers were similar for the 75 inch but a different prefix.

I'm working LAHA so I cna confirm this weekend when I'm home. But fair guess you're right. My TV is definitely Android based as the menus are the same as my 75. 👍

      • Exactly, every one on the list through this page, is running other Linux OS than Android. https://www.sony.com.au/electronics/support/articles/0022689…

  • Somewhat tempted but the reviews are pretty damning

  • Price is back to $849. Deal expired.
