Ryobi 36V 5.0Ah Chainsaw, Battery, Charger Kit $317.40 @ Bunnings

200

First post, apologies if I am not doing it right.
I went down the chainsaw aisle to look at the battery powered chainsaws and found this kit with battery and charger is cheaper than the skin only saw. I nearly bought 2 just for the spare battery which has a rrp of $299 by itself.

This one above is brushless, the one you posted is not, however decent deal.

The brushless, with a 6Ah aftermarket battery (many outperform the original Ryobi batteries), and if you already have a charger, I think would work out better since brushless is technically more powerful, longer lasting and heats up less.

I just don't like how bunnings confuses the retailer, like their $249 for Mower n 2 batteries vs. $210 with one battery (except the $210 is a brushless mower, where as the $249 is not!)

Bit dodge. Thought I'd give my 2c but thanks for the post!

    • After market batteries?

      • Yep
        Check them out on YouTube

There's plenty and many of them use better tech

I bought mine awhile a go so if I find a link, will do so asap but in the mean time YouTube is the right direction (sorry!)

Ryobi is huge overseas, so hence why.

Also, many adapters (can 3d print one) to allow you to use AEG, Milwaukee and Ozito batteries, with your Ryobi tools.

Very handy if, say you were to buy an AEG combo kit which includes 6 batteries, ATM.

The one posted is brushless, it's the same as the one you liked to but with a battery and charger.

It says brushless on the box I have in front of me. Would post a pic but not sure how sorry.

      • Apologies for the confusion!

    • Description in the linked product page also says it's brushless. So, it would seem this is an even better deal than first expected.

      • Oh wow, wierd how it doesn't say in their product title, listing

        That's an epic deal then!

Thanks for pointing it out and clarifying guys

This is the chainsaw in the OP. Same model number. Brushless.

    • Could you link to a source that you like fire the batteries?

  • If you want a spare 5ah battery, get this for $107 - https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-5-0ah-cordless-blo…

      Thanks, but not a 36v only a 18v.

      • Ah, sorry mate.

For people already invested in the Milwaukee gear I'd recommend having a look at this one https://sydneytools.com.au/product/milwaukee-m18fchs0-18v-li…
Brushless, 16 inch bar (most electric are 14) and comes with a 12Ah battery. It reviews very well. Personally I only recently purchased a Stihl MS180 so can't justify another saw the same size.

great spot donk! that's a great deal.

I just happen to have both the saws you listed.

I prefer the Milwaukee. With the exceptions of complex weight distribution where my laziness gets the blade stuck, the Milwaukee has plenty of torque to go through very dry gum logs.

      The Stihl now lives elsewhere.

(I got the Milwaukee from the same deal. Battery received within the week).

  • I do want the battery.. but i have nore more trees on my propety .. cut them all down already haha

  • I've been using this chainsaw for the last 3+ years and has been great! Use it to cut firewood on camping trips

If only this could be charged with a Xiaomi powerbank and a Blitzwolf cable, OzBargain style!

  • Oh wow. Even though I'm deep into EGO gear (mower, snipper, blower, hedger + 2 batteries), This deal looks great!

    $317 with charger and battery.
EGO 35cm chainsaw is $339 just for the skin.

That's a big price premium just for having interchangeable batteries.

  • This or the 18V one. Anyone able to comment?

    • I grabbed the 36v for my hubby after watching the video called buyers guide on their website.
