41

Was looking up some online courses to do ,

Noticed this one at a cheaper price, cant speak for the provider but it seems half price from others

TAE40116 Training & Assessment

Though im not sure how you would learn this subject online , i think I would prefer classroom based for this subject but still i suppose its ok for the price

Any thoughts ?

Valid until the 28th August apparently

  • Should it be .net.au ?

    • Yes thanks Shane

I know a few people who have done it via inspire and it has been ok if you don’t mind not having a classroom environment..

Probably helps if you have a friend or 2 who has the qualification or is in the industry to help with some of it as well.

Hang on….reading their fine print, it seems you have to have a work placement somewhere ( under FAQ) , makes it a bit difficult , thats if im reading it right.

Training and Assessment students will need to initiate contact with an approved Registered Training Organisation to complete workplace-based experience and solidify practical experience and skills relevant to the qualification. Where the student is already working in an RTO, they may nominate their workplace for the purposes of completing of the Skills Workbook requirements. The workplace must meet requirements of Workplace Approval Checklist. The work place must be also approved by the Vocational Placement Coordinator.

  • I've been working as an IT manager for the past 1 year or so, but never really get any formal education from ny workplace, do you think having a Diploma Of Leadership And Management would help me in advancing my career OR better off taking online course from Lynda or Pluralsight?

This is what lots of overseas students 'study'. Its a joke to anyone that knows anything about it.

I did it years ago when it was just a diploma of management. Was enough to just tip me over the line for my first management position. After that it's knowledge and people skills, not really bits of paper.

You would be mad to do this course or any course with this RTO.

Their trainers/assessors are based in the Philippines and all of their reviews are heavily astroturfed with 4/5s to bring their averages up.

I've heard more horror stories about this RTO than any other running RTO and are surprised that they are even still around.

Give this one a miss, it's not a bargain if you can't finish the course and then have to pay to get extensions because of 40 day turn arounds on assessments.

Have you used this RTO? Because that's a load of garbage that their trainer and assessors are based in Phillipines. A simple yes or no is suffice for the initial question.

      • Have you used this RTO?

        • Yes, via Blended Delivery in a classroom setting. I put a bit more information in a comment a bit further down.
          Cheers

      • Did you pay the $1500+payment plan for the face to face delivery or did you do the "rug store special always on sale" online course?

You comment below says you did the "Blended" delivery, that is not what this is. If you're a trainer and assessor why did you have to do the course and not an upgrade?

They definitely offshore their work, you don't need to take my word/experience for it, Google Reviews, Trustpilot, Product Review, Yelp.

I agree that not just any rando off the street should be having a crack at the TAE but this mob are crooks.

  • I did one with fortress learning. Was OK. Cost more than this. I've never used it. /facepalm

  • I used MrWed and had a great experience, but there’s is a lot more too

As a Trainer and Assessor that's used these guys in Brisbane, I can't speak highly enough of their Blended Learning delivery.
This is nothing regarding the RTO, but if you have no education experience and think doing a TAE online is a good idea, it's probably not for most. Some of the assessments require you to present in a simulated or workplace environment and if you can't do that, then obviously you'd struggle to pass. Hence why the blended learning is a better idea.
You're first starting point would be contacting them regarding the qual. Otherwise, jump onto training . Gov . Au to get more information about the current qualification.

Price wise though, it's a great price.

    Order placed.. thanks OP

    • If you haven't already paid, abort abort, as mentioned above check their Google Reviews, Trustpilot, Product Review, Yelp.

      • Yes, the credit card payment didn't go through.

  • I did TAE in the classroom a few years ago. Buckle up Toto, Kansas is going to turn into a swirl of jargon. I can't imagine learning all the weird crud you have to wade through without a classroom of people to help with TAE. Used it so I could teach based on my Dip. IT. The first half was just getting my head around the weird terminology for everything (and I work in IT that tells you something!). The second half was all about complying with the standards. I'm sure there was some stuff on actually delivering classes. I left the teaching world not long after.

At the time there were some backyard RTO's offering TAE in a weekend. Like that would work. My wife now works with NDIS. Lots of weird waste there too. It's kind of put me off anything to with "standards"
