and not have any reception using Vodafails network. :( and Crazy Johns customer service is debatable

who ever negated my post please tell me why being on vodafails network is a bargain. FFS people i had to take it to the TIO to get out of 3 mobile.

      • I was the same with Optus markis, I agree. Lets face it, if you don't have Telstra you've got a 2nd rate service.. simple as that. People can rag out Telstra's customer service all they want, their network is still head and shoulders above the rest.
Telstra get this phone mid-July and are very competitive price wise with the other latest phones. I'll be getting it then.

agree, telstra has amazing coverage and they are picking up their game. kudos to them. looking after the common consumer. its more than VHA has bothered to do.

Depends on the area. Optus goes well for most city areas from my experience. That's not true in all cases, but I have never had an issue with reception apart for a blackout spot that was about 500 metres long around Hawthorn station in Melbourne. Apart from that, I never had an issue.

People can rag on Telstra for more than their customer service… If you think that it their only fault, I would say you need to deal with them more.

        • my brother is on telstra and he hates them and this was just the other day when I told him I just changed carriers again. Everyone's situation is different.

Each carrier has their problems so whatever. I really haven't had a major problem on any of them after having tested optus/telstra/three/vodafone in the city. I do wonder what vodafones connection will be like with the new 850mhz they are now touting for specific phones.

the plan seems okay to me but I guess it comes down to how much hate you have for vodafone.

        something funny in here

      • I did. It's been awhile. Man! feels so good. Thank brah!

I've used Optus, 3, Vodafone, Telstra. They all have their problems, but I haven't found Vodafone to be any worse than the others.

    better deals elsewhere

not a great price + bloody long lock-in to vodafone

FYI, I got mine for $29 + $5 handset repayment. I have been existing 3 customer and when call 3 migration team to migrate to Vodafone, they offer to waive my remaining contract + $10 loyalty credit so I only pay $5 on cap $29. Anyone is with 3 should try to call 3care and ask to migrate to Vodafone, you will get good offer :)

    • Are you talking about SGS2?

      • of course I am talking about my brand new sleek super slim Samsung Galaxy S II mate. I got 3 months remaining contract waived. My friend got 6 month remaining termination fee waived (don't quote me on this coz I can't verify this) but I definitely got 3 months waived.

        • I also got 3 months waived(Optus). Took me 2 hours on the phone to prove that their service is rubbish in a variety of locations, incl. Melbourne(Hawthorn area as previously stated) and most regional areas. And forget about using data, pointless. The excuses Optus gave me were nothing short of comical. I'm on Telstra now and get almost full bars of reception EVERYWHERE!

Telstra may come up short service wise in some regards, but there's no denying that their network is far, far superior to the rest.

        • Thanks mate. Your comment made my day. I just called 3 to switch to Vodafone & they happily waived my 6 months remaining. I signed a Google Nexus S

        • Hey guys can i ask which section did you call 3 at? I just called the upgrades department I have 9 months left on my contract they don't know about contract waiving and said i can only transfer with the remainder of my contract and no new handset

    • Yeah, so which handset you got on that $29+5 plan?

  • You can get this handset from Vodafone for $29 cap + $15 handset repayment. This is not really a bargain.

    • you don't really get much calls or data on a 29 dollar cap. I think you need to compare what you actually get with your repayments.

    • Where can you get this deal? It did not show up on their webstie. I am thinking to bring the missus to Vodafone now so to get the 10% discount per month as well.

i went for the vodafone infinite plan for $45 unlimited calls/sms/mms within australia and sms/mms internationally + $45 credit to make calls to 1300 numbers etc with $5 handset repayment option for SGS2. oh and to add to it i was migrated to vodafone as well from 3mobile and they wiped off 13 months on my contract :D

so far i havent had network problems. every place i've visited i get if not full then atleast 2/4 bars of reception. havent seen it fall below 2 yet which in opnion is reasonable enough with excellent voice quality.

    $45 + $5 = $50

not a bad deal if anyone is interested.

    • Hey, could you please tell me which vocative store did you go to? They won't budge on my remaining 8 months and I've been with them for 8 years. Thanks

  • At the moment Virgin are doing a $49 plan with $5 handset fee which includes 2gig worth of data. You also get 50% off the access fee for the first 6months, making it better than the above deal in the long run.
