To get to the page:

  1. Go to http://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/
  2. Put in the coupon in the affiliate box. (not my affiliate if that is what it truely is)

    The Panda's money has left the building!

    I bought 2. They were sitting in my cart since around 9am as I was pondering it. Blimey!

    Now to slowly find a half-height+length pcie gigeth card, wait for hds to come on special… (hint hint to any appropriate reps reading - NOW is the time to nab hd sales :).

    Is there a DVI or HDMI port available?
    (couldn't find the info in the detailed spec listed in http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13716_div/1371…)

    Is KVM the best option if I want to use one monitor for this along with my existing PC?

      If your monitor has separate VGA and DVI inputs, you could switch between them.

      Then use a usb keyboard and mouse on a hub, then plug the single hub usb cable into each PC as required.

      If that's too inconvenient you can buy a KVM switch later.

    I just did a query on Order Status and it says the "Planned Ship Date" is 13-Jul (today) and the "Planned Delivery Date" is 14-Jul (tomorrow)..

    I hope that's true cos that would be friggin awesome.

      Probably not true though… saw this on the order confirmation:

      "Delivery time frame is 10-14 Business Days once payment is received and cleared."

    Well session times are not infinite. The hp website just told me then mine will expire in an hr. I guess this means that if you've got yours in the cart and have had it for a while, order before expiry hits. :)

      Didn't even need it in the cart. I was logged in with the TECHWRK code still, but had removed the item from my cart. Had a change of heart, used the direct link that was posted earlier, and it was still visible - added it to my cart, and processed order successfully. yay :)

    Wow, HP order status form is quite insecure, all you need is date and web order number…which is sequential. Can't actually change anything, but you can see what was ordered, amount and what city/suburb it's being delivered to.

    I can create a USB flash boot installer for Windows XP with this, yeah? I don't have the know-how to try and tackle Linux, Ubuntu etc., and I want to use it as a HTPC with XBMC…

    I had it up on my browser since 12:30. Was talking to a mate at work and given it was still open we did an add to cart: followed the bouncing ball. I got approval from the Chief Financial Officer (aka wife) - At least it sounded like approval. I now have one on order.

    If anyone near you has a session still open: suggest you get them to order one before the gate closes…

    Rang HP after deal marked as expired. They still had stock, but I was told the deal was employees only. They said something about having read posts on a number of forums before they pulled the code.

    I hope those who ordered get their stuff.

    If anyone is an employee (or I guess associated with HP) you should still be able to order them.

      See ^this is why we can't have nice things.

      I posted it on OCAU rather than on here (after seeing the WP thread), because I feel sorry for some of those guys who keep missing out, and that is where the original $169 MicroServer deal all started from.

      OCAU members deserve to get them IMHO, because they provide really great support and ideas for these servers etc over there.

      They also get sponsored by MegaBuy who heavily push their micro server $350/299 "deals" on them and they aren't allowed to say anything too nasty in return. Whereas here on ozb, MB get pwned, and rightly so… http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/48470.

      So sure you will always get Brodens on any deal, even a few on OCAU, but it pales into insignificance against the power of OzBargain. I reckon people who really want one for personal use are most likely to still be looking at the OCAU threads, and so are likely to get one.

      But the window is so short once it gets posted here on OzB.
