Cheapest Way to Stock up on Xbox Game Pass for PC Credit/Wallet?

So I recently got Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta) for $1 for the first month then $4.95 for every month after this first month.

Seems like an ok deal maybe to try for a few months until I get either bored or run out of games.

Easily 5 to 10 of the games would cost me a few years worth to accumulate if I bought them on crazy insane sales and deals/humble bundles/etc so I see the value in keeping it also I get to maybe experience playing with Xbox Game Pass players which is a whole entire community in its own way so for that alone might be fun for a bit since I am burnt out on Steam, Origin, Uplay, Epic Games for now etc so Xbox Game Pass for PC is my new thing.

Anyways this is getting really long so my question is can you buy any sort of gift card or credit for Xbox Game Pass for PC cheaper than just straight up subscribing for $4.95 every month.

I know there will probably be more deals in future but for now does say normal Xbox credit or whatever it is called (I am new to the Xbox ecosystem) work on the PC equivalent.

Just trying to squeeze as much value from other ways and funnel it into my Xbox Game Pass for PC account.

Also any other Xbox players here got any good suggestions for cross play aka PC and Xbox players playing in the same game/server etc.. I wanna try it.

Thanks as always ozb.

  • The $4.95/month is meant to be a temporary price, while the service is in beta, so you'll be unlikely to buy gift cards for it while it's in beta.

Having said that, I started a subscription ($1 first month then $4.95/mth), cancelled in September as I went on holidays, and when I came back I subscribed again, and it was just $1 again for the first new month! So I don't know if you can spam it and cancel it every month, but if you really are tight for money, you could try that out.

    • Ok I will try that as I am really not interested in keeping it just trying it out.. And for $1 it is not too bad for a month of non ownership gaming.

  • Note: you can also try the trial month for game pass ultimate for $1 (it's considered a different subscription). There is also Microsoft Rewards where you can get $5 credit for every 4750 points.
