I got the C3 from the Good Guys for $279 without the turbo head.
Is the turbo head worth the extra $120?

You got the C3 Allergy Tech Blue which is a discontinued model.

Miele doesn't list it on their website, so direct comparison is impossible.

      But a couple of things:
You got a 1,700 Watt vacuum
This is a 2,000 Watt vacuum

The Cat and Dogs version comes not with one, but two turbo heads, normal size and small (for things like cars)

Your vacuum has HEPA filter, this one has a carbon activated filter to remove pet and other odours.

Some people absolutely swear by the turbo heads https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/7832852

I saw the deal you got the vacuum from, and the more I read, the more certain I am that I will be getting the Cat and Dog version with turbo brushes.

But it depends on your needs I guess - if you have pets or carpets, then the cat and dog is the clear winner imho.

If not, then you might as well go for the cheaper option (but they often last for many years, so your circumstances may change).

Mind you, all Miele vacuums are Made in Germany, and have an outstanding reputation (top 4 vacuums on the ProductReview site are Miele, with the best rated Dyson at number 7 of about 114).

So, no matter which one you get, you will almost certainly be happy with it.

all Miele vacuums are Made in Germany

Don't think so. I believe some (cheaper ones) are made or at least assembled in China.

Darn it, had this in the shopping cart to purchase and notice Appliance Central ebay don't post to: Northern Territory, QLD Far North, Tasmania.
    Cheers though OP.

  • Any good for stairs? We have a Dyson upright that is useless in our new house

I bought the C3 Cat and Dog for $265 from the local Miele Clearance Centre. Probably worth checking one of those out if they're near you.
