  • damn, has it come to this cheap.

    • +8

      I wouldn’t say $300 is cheap

      • Yeah, it's very cheap.

  • 12 sold since 10am so stock probably won't last long

  • get on this while you can. This will fly out quick

    • +13

One person has bought 8 in two lots of 4 which is a bit shit

      • Broden is that you?

      • Same person bought another 4 (12 in all).

        • +1

Probably make around 50 a pop so about $600 worth of profit there for them :(

          • +1

@alfawex: Even more if they bought using discounted gift cards

  • +1

    Got a pair, thanks OP

  • These or the QC35 i or ii?

    • -8

      airpods gen 3

      • -1

        Millennials….

    • QC35 II are heaps more comfier, XM3 have more Bass

      • +2

Comfort is entirely subjective and dependant on your head size/shape. For me, the QC35 II were almost painful to wear compared to these.

        • +2

You might be the exception but for most people Bose is the comfort winner, mostly by being lighter.

      • XM3 also has superior NC.

  • +1

    Cheers, big ears.
    Grabbed a pair

  • it is now showing as out of stock

  • its gooone

  • placed it in my cart and then it got out of stock

  • +2

Just got one in last seconds!

Plus used ebay uk gift cards and will TRS on upcoming trip, brings it down to under $250 for me…thanks op!!

Sometimes, I feel sorry for these eBay sellers.. packing 110 boxes of headphones out for same day shipping sounds like fun thanks to OzB lol

  • Glad a few got on. My MDR 1000X gave up last week so was on the lookout. Next best here for anyone still looking: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/WH-1000XM3B-SONY-Wireless-Noise-…

Sony also have it for $320 but they are refurbs

  • Curiously, what kind of scenario do you guys use these headphones in? I'm assuming it's a good all-rounder but curious to see if anyone uses this for gaming for instance

    • +1

I use it on my commute by train, in the office when I need to focus, use them in the gym doing weights so that I don't have to listen to the crap music they play, when flying, connected to my NVidia shield late at night when the wife is sleeping. That's all with the previous 1000x's before they gave up.

The MDR-1000X weren't great for calls so probably wouldn't have been great for gaming. Don't know about these yet.

      • Do you notice slightly out of sync audio with the Shield? Given the BT delay?

        • Haven't noticed any delays in video using laptop, shield or phone

          • @alfawex: any trick to switch between devices smoothly?
I only use mine on my phone and my laptop, but every time I want to switch I have to turn off bluetooth on one of the devices.
And sometimes even doing that the headphones still doesn't automatically re-connect, so I have to hold the power button to re-connect manually…

            • @teximushin: No. That'd be my mine gripe although not a major issue. Instead of turning off bluetooth on the device I always turn the headphones off then turn them on in searching mode holding down the power button then manually connecting.

I believe Bose can do this. Presume the next gen from Sony will also.

              • @alfawex: Agree it's not a major issue. And I hope Sony can improve this by a firmware upgrade.

    • +1

Get open back for gaming imo for the sound stage.

    • +1

      The plane.

Or if you're sitting down in a noisy public environment such as the air port.

If I'm just going out shopping or commuting I prefer in-ear ANC which is lighter and smaller than over ear cans.

    • +4

      Those are refurbs

      • +1

Yeah, just noticed and was about to edit my comment.

  • Restocked :)

    Edit: I was wrong :(

  • Will this block out baby screaming ?

    • wanna know this too, hate those screeching noises they are the worst

    • +1

Whose? Your own, or someone else's?

    • +1

Not really. It will reduce the volume, but you'll still hear him/her.

    • If you want to do that get blockout ear buds , especially with comply tips. I do this on planes and I can see the kids little red face and not hear anything but my music.

      • Care to recommend a model please? Thanks

        • +2

My best pair are etymotics, but I can't give you the actual model number (they are quite old now). However, I've also done this trick with Sennheiser etc. You look at what seems to be a decent pair of ear buds then go to the Comply website and find compatible tips; then Google to find cheaper sites. I find them really comfortable, and well isolating, but some people can find them annoying. I also have to clean them, reasonably, regularly with hot water and a cotton bud; they do get a touch "grubby". It can take a couple of attempts to learn how to insert them properly but once you work out how you can walk down a street and feel the tram rumble without hearing them. It does mean you need to be fairly digilent to take notice of what is happening around you if you use them walking in the street. The rhinos on skateboards can come out of nowhere.

  • Hungry marketing for this headphone

  • Got the wh-ch700nb for $159 using this coupon. Different seller.

  • Shame, for some reason my OzB alert didn't tell me about this deal.

  • Mine have been dispatched already. Had a slight worry that they may have oversold although I was the second to buy after 10am

  • -5

Sound quality of these is disappointing. Not sure why the hype.

    • what would you recommend for nc headphones ?

      • grab a pair of the AKG's bundled with the note 10 release. There's a bunch of sealed ones for $200. They're noise cancelling isn't quite as good as the Sony's but they sound quite a bit better

  • No XM4 this year?

    • No announcements so that's a no.

      • +1

If I knew they weren't going to do one this year I might have got the XM3 a year ago when it was sub $300.

  • +2

    6 more in stock guys

    • +1

      Bought one,5 left
Total $326.70 with $9.90 shipping fee
      Thanks OP
