  • "Massive" punch-hole!

Lovely set of features as usual in the phone.

Loved my old Moto X, especially the feature where you could check the notifications by just waving your hand in front of the screen!

What's the camera picture quality like?

    Poor IPS Screen
Bad battery life despite sizeable battery and Android One none bloated software (Surfing Web and Video playback is worse than my Pixel 2 which has much smaller battery)
    Single speaker
Exynos chipset equal to SD 660 but maybe the reason why battery life is mediocre
Very good camera though (OIS! Yay!)

As people have noted, the LG V30 (4GB/128GB) is still the better deal at $400. It's got waterproofing, a better processor, and a better screen. The cameras are disappointing for an ex-flagship but it's about equal to the Moto phone.

Besides you need to compare it to the Moto G7 Plus (4GB/64GB)… and that's a steal at $320. But it hardly hits that price, it's usually around $400. The Moto G8 Plus is coming soon as well.

I'd say this is a little better, so it's probably worth $350. However, I'd say it would hardly hit that price point, and you'd more often see this priced at $450. So overall, this is a good bargain.

There's other/better options in the grey market if you're interested. Sales/specials for the Lenovo Z6 Lite (6GB/128GB) is around $340. The Lenovo Z6 Pure (6GB/128GB) is around $470. The Lenovo Z6 Pro (8GB/256GB) is around $640. The ZTE Axon10 Pro (8GB/256GB) is around $800.

Anything better would be the OnePlus 7 Pro (8GB/256GB) at $725, or the Samsung S10 Plus (8GB/512GB) at $970 but I think anything above $600 and you should be looking for Local Stock for warranty purposes.

That's an awesome round up. Thanks for the info! The Lenovo phones look interesting.

      • Nice write up, I can't find the MotoG7 Plus for $320 anywhere though. Have you a link?

      • Where is the OnePlus 7 Pro 8gb/256gb going for $725?

      • You wouldn't choose the One Vision over the V30+ unless timely security and OS updates were a priority. I gather the V30+ is just getting Android Pie now. Will it ever get 10?

  • I'd give it a go but only 4gb ram.

4GB RAM is plenty for general task and media consumption.

  • One zoom would be better, shame that they don't bring it to Au.
    Exynos is meh
