Which Telco Porting Do Not Require SMS Confirmation ?

Are all mobile porting now requiring sms confirmation ?

Anyone tried porting recently that still doesn't require sms confirmation ?

PS: Backup number expiring soon and out of credit. Don't want recharge $15, just want to port in/out to remain active.

Geez, doesn’tsound like a half dodgy post

      • so whats the problem sms in costs nothing and can still be received without credit, unless there is something weird with your plan.

I had to enter this sms into the website of the company I was porting to. they oibviously forwarded it to the old provider. Or did I just get something weird happen to me.

        • why ppl said porting to kogan, have to send sms from old number?

  • It's the provider you're porting away from that does the SMS confirmation. So I'm not sure on how finding a provider that does't require it would help anyway, you're already with the provider your with, they'll be the one asking confirmation.

Or is the "backup number" just a ruse?

you sure not the other way round ? detective

the new provider send sms code to current old number for confirmation

      • Hmm, I think you may be correct. I yield and withdraw my previous assertion!

  • Only Vodafone network is troublesome at the moment. You need to reply to the SMS from your SIM.

The other two Telstra/Optus are fine if your SIM is still active to receive SMS. You enter the code on a webpage.

I'm getting delays going from Optus to Telstra. It's at Telstra's end what I'm told.
Plenty of others are experiencing the same issues with Telstra.

      • Same.. huge delays going from Optus to Telstra.. it's actually really stuffing me around. No reception in our area with Optus at the moment, so tried to port to Telstra. Six days waiting for the port (PPV) SMS.. having to drive down the road for reception to see if the SMS has come through.
Many hours on the phone and Telstra 24x7 Chat. They just apologise and say IT is working on it.
