25c per large fries but how many cents is that per fry?

    • +20

You get roughly 90 fries in a large fries so the calculation would mean each fries is worth 0.28c

      • +12

        Im counting them tomorrow

        • +6

We can always count on you!

        • +6

you better not count those tiny little fry nubs as whole fries

          • +3

@AustriaBargain: How long is a standard fry? We'll need to measure and average to create a standard, then count based on said standard

            • +4

@[Deactivated]: it should be done by weight not size of the packet to remove variation based on how generous the maccas team member feels at filling that packet …..

              • +1

@garage sale: Weight by surface area ratio. OP can realistically weigh and immerse each fry in a non-Newtonian fluid to measure displacement.

  • +7

How many sauces, if it's one less that should also be added to the methematics

    • +1

The value is consuming a sauce dipped nugget as a whole (you dont drink the sauce so you not getting any utilities from the extra sauce without the nuggets).

The 3 sauces you get is enough for the 18 nuggets therefore the extra sauce you miss out on is a sunk cost.

      • Saunk cost you could say.. or dunked sauce cost

      • +3

Interestingly enough to me sauces are of great value, I love the spicy mayo type sauces from kfc and mcdonalds. Havent been able to find an equivalent in sauce bottles from grocery stores yet, Keen if anyone knows of one.I actually value the sauces to the point that i usually try to be a bit measly with them and make them last longer so i can use them later on with another food item.

        • I would love it if KFC sold their pepper/twister mayo like McDonald's sell their big Mac sauce

Is it literally just the 2 Large Fries, or 2 packets of Large Fries?

    • 2x, where x can be a number between 0-9.

      • so like 6.9?

    • I love how jv is surprised how the world works.

Thought this was urban dictionary for a second

  • why do i get a feeling people don’t care if the chips they eat are crunchy or soggy, cold or hot, just as long as they are cheap …..in which case it’s cheaper to make crap chips at home

    • Something about maccas chips that make em taste good even when they go cold better than home cooked chips.. although I should really deep fry some shoe string fries before I comment anymore.

I usually just fan force with some grills in the oven my fries and they don't turn out as good obviously as deep fried in a dedicated deep fryer store maccas/takeaway/restaurant/chicken shop fries.

From Woolworths you can get Chicken Nuggets anywhere from $6.20/kg to $18.42/kg I would probably aim for the $10.00/kg just so I feel like I am getting something that is "premium" but still not paying ridiculous amounts and also most things are around $10/kg no matter what product category you search for I find $10/kg is a good number sometimes but depends on the day really if you wanna gamble some other "meat" in your nugget or whatnot but yeah those are the facts and figures.

From Coles you can get Chicken Nuggets anywhere from $5.80/kg to $15.38/kg for some actually labelled chicken nuggets or $22.50/kg for some Chicken-Free Nuggets which ironically "May Contain EGG" which I think kind of defeats the purpose and point but at least it ain't got no "Chicken" there are also other Chicken derivatives like tenders, schnitzels, kievs, balls, pops, wedges, chicken wing nibbles, dino snacks, fingers, strips, crackles and something called a goujon.. yeah there is a lot of chicken options there but as far as chicken nuggets goes it is $5.80/kg to $15.38/kg and everything in between.

There is a $29.17/kg Frozen Chicken Party Bucket but I felt like it was more a mish mash of other chicken selections so I did not include it in the main $/kg comparisons.

No idea what Aldi, IGA, SUPA IGA, Foodworks and whatever other groceries and butchers etc offer but yeah that is all I could find from the two main ones that maybe most people would use.

If you have any other databases or websites I can use to post a nice quick yet detailed summary report message me some links or info otherwise just reply to this comment with your findings on chicken nuggets and their lowest and highest $/kg you can officially show or have seen out in the wild ;)

Hope this helps somebody otherwise there is no point in me doing it hehe lol :)

I like chicken nuggets they are ok.. nice quick meal but couldn't eat them forever for life.

    • +2

The best option is stocking up on premium when they're half price.

As for the may contain eggs in the chicken-free nuggets, it doesn't much matter to most vegans, it just means it's processed on the same equipment as something with egg in it, it doesn't increase the demand for animal products and you wouldn't be able to taste it. Vegetarians definitely wouldn't care. People with severe allergies may need to be careful though.

There's also the option to make your own nuggets, which could save $$ and increase quality, but significantly reduce the convenience of the meal.

    • +2

Imagine the constructive things you could have done than lecture a cheaper way that Macca’s lazy a$$es would never follow lol .

All about convenience that some will never understand !

    • +4

So I have to cook them?

$8 for 18 nuggets and 2 large fries. Using methematics and $10 for 24 nuggets as a base the 18 nuggets is worth $7.50 as 18 is 25% less than 24. Therefore you are buying 2 large fries for an extra 50c which works out to be 25c per large fries.

$8 for 18 nuggets and 2 large fries. Using methematics and $3.30 for large fries as a base the 2 large fries is worth $6.60 as 2 is 100% more than 1. Therefore you are buying 18 nuggets for an extra $1.40 which works out to be 7.777c per nugget.

    • If I'm buying maccas large fries at $3.30, I'm definitely doing meth. They're awful. That price gets me a cup of actual hot chips.

    You had me at 18 + 2 …

    Definition of methematics:

The way in which a meth a addict try's to buy product with cash money while they owe money or deliberately attempts to confuse the seller by rapidly talking/throwing numbers around in a frantic manner hoping to benefit them selfs by either shorting the seller money or by receiving extra product.

      • -1

It currently can be deleted however after it receives 100 up votes it can’t be deleted due to the OzBargain guidelines on duplicates.

        • +2

But they deleted 2 duplicates this morning within an hour of posting but this one has been posted longer and reported numerous times with no action. If true about 100 or more, this has yet to achieve that.

          • +2

@Lucille Bluth: Agreed it is unfair after (8 at the moment) duplicate reports have been ignored and as it was posted 9+ hours ago

            • @FaceDown: Not ignored, guidelines

The item is not in the title of the original deal and the duplicate deal is active or will be active on the day it is posted

          • @Lucille Bluth: I think it won't be considered as a duplicate as this deal wasn't in the title of the original deal.

  • +13

Love the people who keep sooking about these deals being posted 🤣

Keep it up, there are plenty of us who appreciate the daily reminder 🙂
