Have these - bargain for this price!

    • I would like have your feedback on longevity , comfort and sounds quality please.

I had them over year now. Sound quality is great, and noise cancelling is excellent. I wore them for 8 hours straight on a flight and my ears never felt uncomfortable. The padding on these headphones are really cushy. Battery life is fantastic (>9 hours), considering mine was refurbished.

Comfort is not great, they are light, but cups are narrow and deep so my ears touched the sides, headband padding is non existent and caused pain on my crown within hours. Bass is exagerated and sound is very distant as the padding is so thick the speakers sit very far away from your ears - this also makes them look huge when on your head. Controls are quite bad, even at the $150 price point. NC is OK, doesn't block a lot while on a plane, not as good as PXC range. Very flimsy build. Mic is mostly useless when noises are around. Has good isolation without NC on. Doesn't come with a good case either.

        • Ah poo, exact same comfort issue I have with another Sennheiser non NC version. Are you still using this or have gone to another one?

@Clivey In Space: Gone through many haha. Spent so much money on cheaper cans, should have just spent more on good ones

Had the exact same issue with the comfort. Hated these with a burning passion.

The shape of the cushion isn't big enough to cover my entire ears (unlike the Bose QC35), so they end up clamping onto my ears. They fitting is so tight that it becomes painful after a few hours. Tried to stretch out the headband so it loosens, but no success.

Ended up refunding it while I had the chance.

I just noticed, JBHIFI have the red colour version going on sale tomorrow at the same price.
I'm happy getting the silver version today and avoiding the crowds.

  • Is this comparable to Bose QC35? I have QC35 and love it.

    • No, this is a lower end headset by far.

    • If you can get a Bose QC35 for about $149 or even $200, I would say you should buy that.
Unless there is a sale on I don't know about, staticice.com says you can pick one of these up for about $383.

  • how about the bass? I like the bass of wh1000xm3

    • Much less than XM3, these try to aim closer to accurate sound rather than consumer friendly sound.

      • similar to a bose?

        • Yes, for certain genres the HD4.5 can sound slightly better depending on your tastes, the QC35ii has better controls, build, significantly better comfort, better NC, better case, better warranty support, but they are more expensive.

I've had this exact same model from last year July 2017 - I used my Telstra $300 JB voucher to get it, I legit paid like $18 for it!. It's been really good for the entire time I've had with it. The noise cancelling isnt the best when compared to the Bose or Sony (current or previous gen) but for the price it gives pretty decent noise cancelling for catching the train / bus and limiting background noise and people's conversations while commuting.

Battery life is good - only thing is it only warns you its low in power probably a couple of hours before it loses power completely (based on my usage of it) and the on off button isnt the clearest and I have sometimes left it on overnight without realising it. Overall very happy I went with this over the bigger brands since I wasnt buying it for noise cancelling only

So wait you paid $318 for it?

      • Yeah I dont remember the exact details, I used my Telstra JB voucher to get the price down from $318 to $18, so i only paid $18 for it :) felt like I wont the lotto hahaha

          So…you paid $318 for it. ;)

I bought my house using a voucher I got from the bank…so I only had to pay them the deposit! Felt like I “wont” the lotto too! :P

        • You won the lottery by paying almost full price for mid range cans.

    Damn, good price.

  • Good price for great headphone. I use them all the time. NC is great on flights. Sometimes they feel a little tight but you just adjust the head band and they are fine. Battery is great. Had mine 2 years now and now issues at all. everything still works as new. Brought refurbish. Customer service is also great. I didn't understand NC before I purchased them and range Sennheiser and within 1 min of making the call they had me on the phone to a engineer that explained everything.

I got it for $179 a couple of months ago and it was a very good deal.
I've been using it daily since then.
For $150 it is a steal.
