Optus Movie Rewards ($10 Ticket & $5 off Chicks for Flicks)

490

Hi all
Optus have re-jigged their previous movie ticket offer it is now $10 per ticket any day except after 5 on a Saturday(it used to only be Mon-Thurs & 2for$19) they also have $5 off chicks at the flicks tickets
So the price has gone up a tiny bit but it is more flexible and better for singles :)
Still a Bargain in my book
Mel :)

  • nice! be4 only from monday to thursday!

  • hows it work? is it just for old movies?

I've noticed tron legacy is in the comming soon section :S

    • Just follow the links from the Optus site in the past I have found it usually doesn't work on Special Advanced screenings but does work on all current flicks

      • thanks just bought two glee tickets for the mrs and her friend.. 42 bux later!

        ohh well..

I'm an optus customer but that website never validates my customer details.

Same here…sent them an email but got no response…thanks for reminding me to follow up with a second more abusive email…

      • Well this way the promo is available to everyone rather than strictly Optus customers so what is the problem? Everyone who knows about the promotion can save almost 50% off the regular price to watch a movie (full price is a total rip-off and I will not pay $18-20 to watch a single movie) and Event cinemas are selling tickets rather than leaving seats empty. It's win-win for all.

I think your a little confused you definetly have to be an Optus customer to take part in this promo

  • hmmm i tried booking some tickets through the site (i'm a member)
but prices are all still full price ($18 for adults non vmax, etc)
I've tried VMAX, NFT, normal sessions…they're all still coming up as full price?

Is there a promo code that we need to enter in as well?

    • +1

You don't need a promo code you just have to follow the links from the Optus site, however I suspect they have only just made the change to the Optus/Event sites, I have been regularyly checking the Optus site and it had only just changed to the new pricing/day structure. I found it worked on one of my local cinemas but not the other, given a little more time it should be fully functional and they will probably send out a promo email regarding the change.

    • I'll confirm that the optus single tickets are not working yet, only the optus family tickets show up for me

    • Perhaps try looking in ticketing options- you have to select the last option, Internet Optus or something rather than Internet Adult at the top. The ticket is listed as $9, then they add on a booking fee of $1 per ticket to make it up to $10. The single tickets show up for me (for cinemas in victoria at least)

  • It wont work for all the show times so you gotta browse a bit but it DOES work!

Is it valid for Virgin customer :p?

Nope, only the sexually experienced ;)

  • Great find..now all days…!!! i have been using this for quite some time…and now i love Optus for it..Works fine..you are just booking and payment is done when you scan your Credit card at the counter, the person picks up your order and payment done. you can use it even on the express counter

    • What the?? I usually Book and Pay using the Event website

  • have been using it all the time and loving it.
Actually ended up with optus because of another deal in here weeks ago about optus my tab.
so, it's like getting 2 deals at once :D

  • So. It now costs more.

Where the f is the bargain. There are two other 10 dollar ticket deals.

    Wish I could neg this.

    • do you have details of the 2 other $10 ticket deals? please share :)

      • sonicentropy has posted one below :)

        • thanks :)

        • just note that the optus 1 is $10 all up inc. booking fee, and the Rydges one is without booking… so should probably only use rydges if booking after 5pm Saturday

"Optus movie rewards just got better" translated "we just put the price up"

"any day of the week*" translated = not saturdays after 5pm

they were 2 for $17 not that long ago, and I didn't know saturday was not a day of the week*

    *sorry for sarcasm

    • Hey thats cool ! I've never heard of a rydges code before, the booking fee gets added on top of the $10 but it can be used on Saturdays score :) Thanks

    • This is cool =D

i guess it just beats the Optus one with the saturday after 5 working.

    • rydges code still works 21/08 …… im an optus customer and cant get theirs to work

  • Ive been signed up to this for ages but finally checked it out after seeing this post…so awesome…I always wait til Tues night to get cheap tix but this is great

  • What is the rydges code? I tried the URL provided but its normal price

    • +3

I just followed sonicentropy's link and selected a movie that wasn't 3D and it allowed me to choose $10 tickets. See screenshot - the ridges drop box is just below the promo code box above the normal tickets http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/6865/rydges.png

      • Thanks. This is good shit.

Pretty decent, shame it went up a dollar but I guess it is slightly more flexible.

I am cancelling my Optus mobile soon though and going with Liveconnected.

  • You sir are a legend. Finally using my membership to good use!

  • awesome, thanks op and sonicentropy

  • What is the rydges code? Just so i dont always have to use the link provided incase it dies or does it never die?

  • Optus deal not working. Tried to save $0.20 in Ozbargain fashion and failed, used Rydges instead.

    • Worked for me at innaloo(WA) earlier today but would not at morley(WA), I sent them an email pointing out their website problem hopefully it will be fixed soon.

      • Ah, thanks for that info. Tested again at another cinema and it works.

  • Strange, The optus deal is not working for Rise of the Apes but yet works for all the other movies. Is there are a restriction for latest releases or something?

Hmm doesnt work for Red Dog either. Strange.

    • Are the both marked as advanced screenings ?

      • Nope, they are available for normal purchases. Maybe its like what some of the others said, the optus deal has not gone through properly yet. Rydges works on those movies / sessions.

  • This is a great find, I used rydges and it worked. Thanks.
