I posted this as part of click frenzy, but now it's active again as part of Black Friday deals, so here we go again.

decide for yourself if $780 for a (mid?-)entry level REFURBISHED gaming machine from HP is good or not.

1 year warranty

i7-8750H is 6 cores and plenty powerful
GTX 1050 is kind of dated, but this is the 4Gb version
1Tb spinning drive plus 16Gb Optane
8GB DDR4-2666
15.6" diagonal FHD IPS anti-glare micro-edge WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080)

HDMI 2.0
GbE LAN
Intel Wifi AC with 2x2 with BT5.0

delivery looks like $0.01 probably a joke

  • The graphics card is definitely a disappointment. Should be a 1050Ti (or better)

    • this is 4gb version of 1050 which is closer to 1050Ti

      • There's only so much extra VRAM will do.

        • haha well what do you want for this price? I'd love to see a 1050Ti serviceable laptop for $800 with warranty

          • @[Deactivated]: I did see some refurb dell G3's with 1050Ti's at the Dell outlet for about $840.
            Granted it only had an i5 but I think i5 + 1050Ti > i7 + 1050.
This isn't a bad deal though, better for someone wanting extra CPU power over GPU

            • @FireRunner: that's true.. thanks I forgot that dell sticks those under Inspiron section in outlet.

however g3 from memory is single cooler design, while this HP is dual cooler, between the two I would still choose HP since it will probably perform better in the long run?
