Kobo Clara HD $138 + Delivery Only @ Harvey Norman

120

It has been almost 6 months since HN last dropped its price on the Kobo Clara HD.

Delivery to Sydney is $7.50, totaling to $145.50.

JB has it for $149, you could try to ask for a deal/price match. (There wasn't any stock at my local JB).

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2019

I wish I'd got a Kobo rather than Kindle. Still can't access Libby via kindle. It's ridiculous, libraries have such an extensive list of ebooks.

Can you not work around that via PC/calibre?

      • If you can be bothered… Is it still legal?

Another workaround is to buy a Kobo too.

My Kobo Mini is still go strong. Love it. Pity they stopped making them.

I don't know what Libby is but if you check out Calibre, you can convert most formats into most other formats. Sometimes you need to do a few extra steps if there is some form of protection but once you're set up it's pretty easy. I assume it's all above board to do that (it should be, you bought the book) but I'm not going to check.

I use it to get Kindle books onto my Kobo. You have to download the old version of Kindle for PC, send it to that from Kindle, and then you covert mobi format to epub. Works back the other way too.

Libby/overdrive is what the libraries use to manage ebooks, you can access it straight on your Kobo tablet. It's really cool.

You can get the Libby app for your phone and access on your phone as well.

In America Kindle will let you access overdrive.

Direct access is only on the Clara HD, but it’s awesome.

  • My favourite Kobo feature is pocket integration.
