Oh man i'd warn you picking this up from SS.. i bought the white one a month ago and it weighed so much lighter than another one i picked up from Geekbuying..

After doing a charge cycle i was only able to charge my s8+ 1.5x and wouldn't register QC

    Sent it back as fake..

Got the pro3 from Alcos for $43.99 so a little bit more last month. Its great definitely recommend at this price - only thing I can think of that does 45W PD for under $50. Charges switch as well and should support dock mode.

    • +1

damn cheap but wondering why it didn’t ended up in the front page?

  • +1

I have tried charging the power bank with 45W laptop charger, 65W laptop charger, and 65W Dell dock, and they all charge it so slowly that I suspect it's not charging at all. I watch it for hours and the same light is blinking all that time. Maybe it is trying to discharge?

I switch to my Blitzwolf 18W PD charger and it does charge. So I think it's not compatible with the V and A combinations of laptop PD chargers.

Still not a bad unit provided you're ok with not being able to charge the power bank as fast as it can output the charge.

I paid $49 for mine because of FOMO. Whenever I do that, I pretty much guarantee the rest of you will get a better deal a week or two later, so you should all be thanking me.

Just out of interest are you talking about the QB815 or the Power Bank 3 Pro?

      • +1

        Power Bank 3 Pro.

I bought a QB823 the other day and will receive it soon. I will test that when I receive it.

        • +1

sweet. It should be better than the Power Bank 3 Pro. I have my eye on the QB815 this seems to be a pretty damn good price

          • +2

@Bacons: The results are in. The QB823 came with 3 leds full (out of 4) which means the charge is about 75%. I spent 4 hours charging it with my 65W Dell Dock, and that final LED never came online. I don't think it was charging at all.

If you think it's just not a good charger, the same Dock charges my Kogan 65W power bank and Dell 65W power bank very quickly.

Hold onto your 18W PD chargers. You'll need them.

            • @lostn: Thanks for the update. That's unfortunate to hear, I'm not sure what's going on there.. .

              • +1

@Bacons: Throughout the whole time I was touching the power bank to see how hot it was, and it remained cool the whole time. I'm quite certain it wasn't charging at all. I had the same thing happen with my Romoss 18W.

Their input doesn't like the voltage and amp combinations that your charger can output.

The dock is designed to fast charge a laptop and will also fast charge a Switch. But the power bank doesn't accept the same range of power as laptops do.

It's ok though. A 20,000 mAh battery (which is really 12,000 at 5V), being charged at 18W is still plenty fast.

                • @lostn: Yep, some of these electronics circuits have voltage and/or watts limiting, so need to try and get a charger that will fulfill the needs of receiving device.

I have also needed to learn about USB C PD charging via trial and error. Had a few losses and even some unexpected wins, bonus lol.

            • @lostn: "lostn" Thanks for the feed back on the QB823. Where did you end up ordering

it from and, did you get a good deal? Sounds like your pretty happy with your

new 65W Beast, I really want one too now lol.

Edit: Missed this deal but saw you grabbed it from here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500060

Shame you missed out on the extra 20% CB, still decent price for a top quality product.

              • +1

@ozhunter68: I got it for $88.80 from Amazon. I don't think it's a good deal because it's a new item, but I may be able to make price protection claims on it later.

I combined it with the flash sale 20% shopback but it didn't track and I don't think it will because a vendor code was required. If I knew it wasn't going to track, I probably wouldn't have gone for it yet. Would have waited longer for a better deal.

I mainly wanted it because I missed out on the QB820 and then they stopped making them. This makes me feel as though I didn't miss out… though that was as low as $50 and I still didn't think it was a good price so I didn't buy. But then regretted it.

                • +1

@lostn: I am in exactly the same boat missing out on the QB820 many times by just a few minutes even. Happy with the similar but slightly lighter QB815 and the Kogan 2680mAh 60W but would love to have the new QB823 now as I love the form factor of the ZMI's and I have turned out a bit of a collector of Power Banks lol.

Just bought a Case of Leffe Blonde for Christmas just now, so although MM said he would price match the deal, might take your advice and sit on it and wait for better deals on this for next year when stores start getting good stock supplies in.

                  • +2

@ozhunter68: Welcome to the club, as a power bank collector myself. :)

That Kogan 26800 is hard to top for the price you pay. It looks a little chunky and inelegant but no one else makes them for $69.

                    • +2

@lostn: Yep. Although the Kogan 26800 models are and look bulky as well as being a tad heavy @ 600gr. but they work really well and has worked on everything I have thrown at, which I can't say for the Cygnett 20000mAh model which will not charge one of my laptops where even the cheap Kogan 10000mAh 18W pd model will, as well as the QB815 and the Kogan 26800mAh of course.

Kogan now has Free Delivery, some power banks are not included, but the 26800mAh models are, set up afterpay and you don't even notice over two months.

                      • +1

@ozhunter68: That's interesting. I almost got a Cygnett. But I was going for the 27K one. I probably shouldn't now but if I find it cheap…

I'm not sane, so I will probably look into the new Kogan one with 100W.

                        • +1

@lostn: As you would know already, check voltages and needed Amps/Watts for both devices as not to make mine and some others mistake.

The Cygnett have great build form factor, but not of much use if it fails to charge your needed device(s).

  • +1

Superb price, isn’t this the cheapest up to date?

    • Must be or close. Both these power banks are good and super deal here. got the QB815 ( really wanted the QB820 but missed out maybe 4/5 times on deals lol ) and really happy with it, one of the best power banks I have seen and used with great form factor and quality features and build.
