Not worth the effort - this is going to fail!

        •

A shopping site without a pricing error disclaimer would be rare thing these days?
If ye can't buy it then it is not a bargain is it?

  • +2 votes

If only I had a SLR, I'd snap this up!

    •

If you are lucky - you could get away with several snaps - otherwise, you will get slapped with refund!

      •

This is true.. One can hope though!!

    • +2 votes

Better to order now, so you won't miss out on a shot of the bargain!

      • +3 votes

Hope you capture it before they change the price

        • +14 votes

ISO happy to see this price but looks like they've pulled the shutter on the deal as the price has changed. While it's blurry if they'll honour it, their t&c's are quite focussed on reducing their exposure to losses from underpricing. Hope it's not all negative though and some of you score one..

  •

I was wondering why the site was so slow… must be because of all you OzB's.

    •

Post it at OZB - That's one way of taking the site down!

If you are looking for references, ask CATCHOFTHEDAY!

  •

I suspect that site would like a few OZB to register. They can quitely refund tomorrow with a sorry and spam them with e-mails for life!

  •

Sweet managed to order one ,not really going to complain too loudly if my order gets rejected..

  • +2 votes

Just ordered. Let's see what happens :)

  •

can anyone tell me which camera/brand can use this lence, I have a sony DSLR A300, does it gonna suit ?

    • +2 votes

you can choose the mount for it - they have Nikon, Canon, Sony & Pentax

  •

    Thanks OP.

I just brought 2x of these lenses (nikon mount) + 2x Mack 7 yr Extended Int'l Warranty for Lens under $1000 (1017)for $402.14 AUD after credit card surcharge of 2%.

    Lets see what happens.
Hope they honour the deal :)

    Lens = $70 each
    Extended Warranty = $40 each
    Shipping = $174.25

    •

Why stop at 2? lol, the longer this is up the less likely it works.

    •

how would you make a warranty claim?

      •

You can take it to a local mack service centre and they should repair it or send it off for repairs.
So no need to send overseas for us aussie buyers

  •

I can't even order, it just simply won't load now .

    •

keep trying it takes its time to load

  •

The current lenses I got is 18-55 and 55-300 those some with the camera. Whats the benefit of having this one over my current lenses? I know its 120-400 so more zoom?? is it worth?

    this wont work

  •

    Mine went through fine

  •

I did paypal and it went through as well finally after all that lag. Fingers crossed however its not a big deal if its not honoured as long as they quickly refund the money.

  •

Hmm. My comment is negged because I question that this is legit. I am in fact a photography enthusiast which tells me they aint going to be selling this at this price legitimately plus $125 postage is crazy. Will wait to see how this plays out. I suspect that this is one of those too good to be true bargains.

    • +1 vote

they not actually intend to sell at this price, it should be a system error or typo

  • +7 votes

Use "EGLOB10" while checking out to save $10 on postage

    •

dude wish u posted this earlier :(

      • +9 votes

If this deal did work, you got a $700+ lens for $70 and you are upset about possibly saving $10 on postage? Hah, hah, hah!!!

        •

          haha i was kiddin

        • +9 votes

          no you weren't :P

        • +1 vote

          it's ozbargains. saving $1 is a saving!

  •

Worked for me with CC. You never know, we may get lucky :)

  •

I tired with another lense and shipping cost if only $37+$10 off, so they are making money from the postage for this lense

  • +4 votes

It's obviously a typo. There is NO way they will actually honour this.

    •

      They aren't…

    COUPON: EGLOB10 and get $10 OFF Postage…

  •

i hope they did what ubisoft did :D
that was pretty cool how they honoured all the free games (technically lost more there than this promo, but ubi is larger but it also didn't really cost them anything aside from bandwidth)

  •

has anyone shopped with these guys before? dealt with them for warranty?
their prices seem pretty decent. i know it's grey stock but still..

  • +2 votes

they seem to have taken down the page now! fingers crossed for ppl that ordered

  •

ordered, hopefully they will send it to me asap

  • +3 votes

they changed back to 700 lol

  •

they changed to $700 now, so will they charge me $70 and send it to me?? :P
or they will send me an email to reject my purchase!? :S

  • -1 vote

well here is a Nikon AF 70-300mm f4-5.6G Lens for $87

    http://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/nikon-af-70-300mm-f4...

    •

that is the old AF non VR 70-300 so @ $87 + crazy shipping sounds about right

  •

lol looks like another deal has received the ozbargain treatment :D

  •

Wow this is a good deal, interested to see if they'll honor it.

  •

Bummerrrrrr! What a fantastic lens if it actually goes for ~$170 inc postage!

    Keep us posted ozb'ers

  •

It's back to $700 for me.

    • +1 vote

Yes… same for me.. and yes.. Typo it is… now $700.

  •

anyone get it before the price jumped back up?

  •

The last time I saw a lens ridiculously discounted on an online store was the Canon 85mm L. Ordered 2 and then was told it was below their cost and I got my money refunded (after having to call them up). Those were pre-OzB days from memory.

It'll be interesting to see if anyone who put in an order will get this.

I wouldn't have minded this lens. Would have made me reconsider going on another wildlife Safari. A 70-300mm lens was adequate but I wanted more reach for some shots.

    waste of time.

  • +4 votes

Now if this does happen to come off, a true ozbargainer would post a copy of the receipt so that the rest of us can price match. :]

  •

    i wish ..

  • +7 votes

Thanks for posting, pity it didn't work out. Negging not aimed at the poster, but rather a statement that this is not a bargain. Alas.

    •

      As above.

      •

this is not a valid reason for a neg.

    • +5 votes

Negging not aimed at the poster, but rather a statement that this is not a bargain.

unfortunately, many people here don't see it that way and resort to personal attacks…

      • -3 votes

I disagree. All negging/positives for a deal are aimed at the deal. This is a personal attack:

    •

      as above

  •

Managed to order one last night. Still haven't seen a 'refund' email. There is still HOPE!

  •

I really want this to work for the guys that jumped on it, 'cause it would certainly be a sweet deal. But I didn't bother, as it will no doubt result in emails either asking for correct payment or cancellation of the order.

  •

for those who managed to purchase it before the error was adjusted, let us know of the outcome!

  •

    does it say 700 now??

  • +1 vote

so many dreamers in here … :)

    •

      imagine all the people..

  •

Are they still charge $100+ for postage after price back to $700

  • +7 votes

    Rule #1

A small business isn't going to sell way below cost price to keep customers happy.

    Result: You won't get it.

Nobody is going to give you $500 for free.

      good post on WP

      http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1751051&p...

Just a general question. If one of you made a mistake and as a result somebody tried to take advantage of you and told others to go and have a go at you as well, how would you feel?
If your wondering why I ask, it is because I'm wondering what happened to good ethics and honesty in this world.

      • +6 votes

yeah that is true we are pricks (in all honesty)

      •

i could say same thing but whether one gonna do it or not its a diff story, and come on there aint ethics or honesty in business.
