  • Anyone knows if the delivery is with DHL as on the sony website?

    • The listing states this:

Sony currently uses Toll for delivery of eBay orders. To track your order, simply enter your track and trace info into the Toll website.

      • It actually varies, I bought a TV, email came through with a tracking number for Toll, but after 2 days it still wasn't live. Contacted Sony and they said it was actually with DHL…

So yeh, they use both and if the tracking number doesn't work for one try the other.

        • That's weird, thanks for the info

        • Can confirm this. I ordered via this deal and even though it says "Toll" under my order details in eBay, I found out it is actually with Star Track. A bit odd. And I was wondering why the tracking didn't work…

its times like this I wish I had 2 pairs of ears!

  • any good deals on premium wired?

    • Depends on what you mean by premium wired?

    • bise qc20 $249

  • +1

it warranty still the same as new ones?

    • yeah of course. I bought a RX100 refurb from their ebay store. Was fine.

  • +2

Does TA or anyone know if this 'Box Damaged' WH-1000XM3 would still be shrink-wrapped? As once the plastics has been removed, it is hard to tell brand new or used.

    • +4

      reshrink wrapping is extremely easy…

  • +1

Can you buy 2 and stack with Amex deal?

    • -3

Payment would go to eBay so no

      • +2

        What's with the neg?

      • Your reason for neg is because you can't utilize Amex offer on Sony's eBay store?

        • +1

What the… must have been my stupid fat fingers, that’ was supposed to be a + 😳. Thanks for revoking it guys haha

eg may not have original box lol .

  • +6

    Who damaged 😡

  • Are these headphones any good? Anyone using a pair that can vouch, with pros and cons?

    • +1

This is hands down one of the best if not the best Wireless Headphones around. Only beaten by the Bose QC35 in terms of comfort

      • +2

The best ANC headphones only. They are not that great sounding once you start getting into audio quality. They also lack quite a few features others have. But this is a good price of you want this headphone.

    • +2

I had the QC35 II's and replaced them with these. 35's were slightly more comfortable and had a bit of a smaller profile, but these sound phenomenal. The 35's sounded good, but these sound punchy.

      Highly recommend.

    • -1

I got these, they are pretty bulky, unless you are planning on using them to sit in an office all day without moving around with them on I would get airpods pro instead, much more convenient and comparable levels of sound quality and NC.

      • +11

comparable levels of sound quality and NC

More convenient - yes…but this is a ludicrous statement.

      • -2

They're actually the lowest profile headphones I've ever bought. Not bulky at all

  • +1

Who's their courier? Need to avoid.

    • Toll

  • -1

For real who doesn't have a pair of these or qc35 now? 😂I feel like this should be the minimum requirement for someone to be considered as an ozbargainer haha!

    • +10

I don't want to start an argument and I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, but some people visit OzBargain out of necessity. I see a comment on almost every popular post to the effect of, "I don't need it but I'll buy it!" I would ask people to please consider that some people here aren't very well off. I'm not asking you to feel sorry for them, but I'm sure there would be thousands of people visiting this website who do not own (and cannot afford) these headphones. And it does sometimes sting a little when you see something posted that you do really need but can't possibly afford, and others are flippantly talking about buying 3 of them just because they can. Peace.

      • I was just kidding lol. Have a good day

        • Yeah I understand, and you too!

        • +1

That 'kidding' can actually hurt some people as Duckman mentioned, but I understand your point too.

        • +2

"IT'S JUST A PRANK BRO" after it backfires ay

  • TRS applicable?

    • +1

      Yes

How does sony always have so much box damage always? Im starting to think this is a way they can sell directly at more competitive prices without breaking their obligations to the retailers…… some one just going around with a box cutter to their stock.

    • +2

some people call them heroes mate

    • I see a dent on a box, I don't buy :S

    • Do Sony do audits of their warehouse staff's friends and families?

I want a new TV next year.

I'm going to see if they need any new staff at a warehouse near me

  • +5

Why does Sony have so many “Damaged Boxes”…..sounds like ✊✊💦💦😎 to me…

    • +3

      Serious 104 sold / 100 stock …

  • This one or Sennheiser brand?

    • Brand? What models?

      • Sennheiser RS165

        • A home theatre open back radio frequency headphone versus a noise cancelling Bluetooth closed back headphone? You can't compare these.

        • they are not bluetooth, and require power supply for the base.

        • Sennheiser RS165 are for Home Audio (requires base station plugged into wall power & source).
Sony XM3 is for Portable Audio.

          • @thebadmachine: Thanks, I was looking for wireless headphone to listen to movies played on tv.

            • @yht: Reviews say the RS175 has the best sound of the bunch (RS165 / RS175 / RS185) if you are serious about music.

RS185 has the best wireless range, but RS175 should be enough range for inside the house.
Reviews said RS185 is for people who want to use it in another room on a different-level to the Base-station. (Some people like to use them for music and walk around the entire house)

We have 2x Sony RF headphones with base-stations (one for the computer and one for TV).
They are great for this use, just take them off base-station and use, put them back to charge when finished.
Always charged & ready to go very handy.

Not at $319.20 before discount. Most of the sales were at $399 before this post.

      • Ah! Makes sense.

  • BEWARE - I ordered these on Sunday just passed for $319 through the Sony Australia eBay store.

After 4 messages to their Ebay profile, and 2 calls to Sony Australia head office, my headphones STILL haven't been shipped. No tracking number. No messages back from their ebay store, or emails from head office acknowledging what's happening with my order. Nobody knows what's going on.

    • +13

Maybe you made too much noise about this and its cancelled out

I think you need to relax take a chill pill, there will be hundreds of orders from Black Friday/Cyber monday, can you imagine being flooded with hundreds of when is my order coming emails, you just tend to ignore them.

Just wait a week and then send off one email. I emailed Sony regarding my order and got a reply. Don't spam them, they will get to you. I mean if I were dealing with a difficult client that keeps spamming me, I'd just ignore.

      • I'd normally agree with you, but when you place an order for $300+ you'd hope to at least be updated that you order is being processed.

Especially considering this is Sony Australia, not a small retailer, and considering that all other black Friday items I ordered from various retailers have been processed, shipped and received.

I've just received an email from Sony support that my order "should" be shipped out some time next week.

Just my two cents for anyone considering ordering from Sony direct :).

        • I've just received an email from Sony support

          See,… patience!

        • Lol, I placed an order for a $5500 TV on the 29th and I had to wait 4 days for a shipping notice. I figured I had just ordered during the busiest time. It's no big deal, I only got worried when the tracking number wouldn't work after 48hours, after which a call rectified that they had used DHL instead of TOLL as stated on the invoice.

But yes, Sony direct isn't as fast as some of the other sellers on ebay.

  • Will Tax Invoice be provided together with shipment? Or we need to request from sony ebay?

  • +1

I think Sony warehouse employees really need to be more careful. I have never come across any organisation that had such problems with boxes getting damaged. At least, not since my 18-year-old self was employed to work in a warehouse and told to drive a forklift truck around that I was neither trained nor licensed for.

    • +2

TBH half the stuff they ship as "box damaged" aren't even damaged. It is really just their way of discounting to get rid of excess stock without pissing off the brick and mortar stores.

      • +2

Yeah, I reckon. To be honest, I suspect it's an accounting scam - by writing it off as damaged, and then selling it anyway, their books may look better. Whatever money they get for selling written off stock probably counts as full profit, while the loss of writing off stock comes from a different bucket. But that's just my guess.

        • +1

Well just got my "Box damaged" TV, not a dent on the box

          • +2

            @azukay: Send it back as faulty… Missing a dent/damage

            • @RockyRaccoon: Well technically it became box damaged, the couriers ripped the cardboard where the handle cutout is. I guess Sony is just really good at predicting the future.

  • Thanks OP.. pulled the pin and bought a pair

    • pulled the pin

    Item price: AU $334.20
    -AU $15.00
    Your price: AU $319.20

    🤔

    • Yup, now expired.

  • Box Damaged

Was that on purpose or what. Or did Sony mean to say damaged box!

    • Does it matter?

      • It does if you want to know whether they received the boxes already damaged during transit or the warehouse workrs accidentally/intentionally damaged the boxes…

  • just wait for two more days for new WI-1000XM2 to be out for sale . Using the same noise cancelling QN chip as this headphone but far more comfortable in hot summer days

  • I got a pair of the silver ones (more like beige) which arrived a few days ago. They seem to work ok, but they make my ears hot. Not sure if they're giving off heat or it's that they're fully enclosed, but other headphones I have (not noise cancelling) aren't like that.

I think I'll be returning them.

  • Does anyone know if this is AU stock or Grey import stock cause I've been checking and I haven't seen any information on it

    • Should be AU stock as it's sold by Sony themselves …
