Spreets - Getting Refund for Non-Reemable Burgerman coupons

I have had a bad experience with Spreets.com.au
I bought a Burgerman voucher in June 2011. I was unable to redeem the voucher because there is no one answering the phone. I made many many calls on 02 9360 8883 from Monday to Sunday. But no one answer. I emailed Spreets and asked for a refund. But what they do is just giving me the same telephone number which is the one that I called many many times and nobody answer!!! What can I do?

  • Your best option is to constantly contact them and do it until they give you a proper answer

  • I've tried to redeem an Ouffer voucher for Burgerman today and it seems like the business has closed completely ("For Lease" sign on the door). So it's not surprising that no one is answering the phone!

I'll ask for a refund from Ouffer (fingers crossed I won't run into problems too…!) and I'd recommend you tell Spreets Customer Support that the business no longer exists - they should be able to easily verify that via their employees who signed the deal with Burgerman and will get many more refund requests!

Sadly, this seems to be another example where the group deals were merely a way of keeping a business alive a little longer with advance funding but ultimately results in bad customer experiences…

    • but from some of the business I spoke to, they don't receive the money till the voucher expiry and they only get money for what's redeemed.

  • you must asked them directly via their facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Burgerman/184464792654
lucky me when i bought their voucher last year, i have redeem all of them. can't remember from which groupon, but that time only $2 / burger.

  • Quick update: got a full refund from Ouffer +$5 as Ouffer credit (no cash), no further questions asked - happy with that

That is the reply from Spreets:

    Thank you for your email.
We have just been informed that Burgerman is in the process of relocating and that they would be reopening in a nearby location in September.
Burgerman has confirmed that they will allow an extension of validity dates of the Spreets vouchers and honour them on re-opening.
Please once again accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. If there is anything else we can assist you with please reply to this email and let us know.

    Regards
    Team Spreets

I doubt it very much whether Burgerman is relocating. It seems Ouffer is a better place to buy voucher from as compared with Spreets who is unwilling to offer a refund.

    • Tell them you can't use it then and you need a refund.

  • I went there to redeem today, store is closed down/for lease.
    What's the go? not cool.

  • I went today to find out that it was closed. I been there a few other times to redeem the voucher to find that it has been closed for some reason or other and it seems like my luck hasn't improved, with it being shut down forever :( Off to get a refund…

I called up Ouffer and they gave me a refund on the spot - ouffer bucks, but whatever. I got them to extend it to a year though which is nice.

Yup, the service from Ouffer is very good - and fair.

Nothing like the lack of service, and lack of any responsibility, shown by so many other groupbuy/deal sites.

Looks like Ouffer are going to do well.

  • Hey,

I also had bad experience with Spreets with that bloody Burgerman deal.

It took me hours to find that place and it was closed and now that stupid compnay keeps giving me that crap phone number which no one answers.

Dunno what to do, feel like conned!!!!!!!!!!

    • Yeah there is a for lease sign on the front of the store :( There's definitely no-one inside the place to answer the phone! Well be firm with Spreets on what you want and why - that is how I got them to do anything last time, sadly enough :(

  • I have succeeded to get a charge back from my credit card issuer. I think it may worth a trial.

  • Burgerman is crap, last time I had to wait almost 2 hours for my food to come out! You should check and see what ppl say about on Eatability. They are a disgrace to the hospitality industry.
