3% off Amazon AU eGift Cards @ Suncorp Benefits

590

The previous 5% off promo has changed to 3% off now (buy any amount between $5-$500 and get 3% off). eGift cards can be bought using the SunCorp app.

Try this method if buying using their website: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/8043999/redir

@jacksonjackson168 deserves credit too as I saw their comment in the earlier post.

Small, but easy 3% savings there.

  • Does this stack with Amex?

    • Which Amex offer? It's just a standard Amazon gift card which you can pay when you buy something on Amazon (just like eBay's eGift card). Not sure if you can pay using Amex on Suncorp app/ website.

      • This one

Or do you have to pay with your Suncorp card too?

        • +1

If your Amex card payment on Amazon is $100 of more (and the rest through Amazon eGift card bought through this deal), then it will stack of course. I am not sure if Suncorp payment gateway accepts Amex - it accepts any Visa and MasterCard for sure.

      • +1

No, only visa and MasterCard can be used in Suncorp app

No Deal. Can get them at 5% off from this deal which is still active: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/503224

    • People have faced long delays in delivery in that deal. It's for physical gift cards and not eGift cards.

      • +1

But that says that Amazon gift cards are currently out of stock there.

        • I just checked again and there's still stock from what I can see…

      • -3

Yes it's a physical card. But still cheaper than what's listed here…so no deal.

        • That deal expired on Dec-6. Cashback on gift cards is currently 1.5%.

How is this a deal worthy of a new post, when the discount amount has been reduced not increased ?

    • +3

I'm waiting for the discount to drop to 1%, then I'll give this my vote.

    • The previous post with 5% off shouldn't have been 'expired' then and just 'amended' instead. Since it was expired, I posted it as a new deal.

  • how would refunds work

    • Back to the gift card.

      • Even after the card fully depleted?

        • +1

Haven't tried that one yet, but their chat support is very good. You can check with them and I am sure they'll have a solution.

    • I use them often.

When you add a gift card it increases your gift card running balance.

When an item is sent the balance amount is reduced.

If an item is returned the balance is increased.

  • How did I not know this was a thing? I’ve had suncorp rewards for ages and always using amazon.

  • So this is a targeted deal?

    • Nope.. anyone Suncorp customer has access to Suncorp Rewards app which offers discount on some gift cards.

      • So it's targeted to suncorp customers?

        • It’s not targeted to select customers. Anyone who has access to Suncorp Rewards can access it.

          • @virhlpool: And you can literally open an account for free (fee-free too) to access it.

            • @jace88: what am I doing wrong? I created an account, joined the app, click rewards and it says "add an existing policy or account", to gain access.

Eligible customers can gain access to discounted gift cards from over 100 retailers.

Then it says, if you added a suncorp product in the last 48 hours, you may have restricted access in Suncorp Benefits.

              I think this is targeted??

              • @dammit: Did you try calling Suncorp?

There's a few pitfalls in the setup process which I personally encountered unfortunately which result in your bank account not linking to the Suncorp App and Benefits eligibility. I had to call up to get this sorted and they reset my account/matching and I started again.

Anyone noticed they are now charging credit card fee? My latest Amazon eGift card purchase with Coles master card has incur 1.9% surcharge, this has never happened before.

    • Is there any option without surcharge e.g. PayPal?

      • Not sure, PayPal isn't an option afaik. The eWallet option is obviously surcharge free.

    • Is there a surcharge when purchasing with a debit card?

      • +1

The surcharge has been removed and reimbursed since then so no more surcharge now.

        • That's good to know, thanks. Did you have to contact someone to remove the surcharge?

          • +1

@rocketrocket: I did call up and asked about the issue, they admitted it was a system error and promised the refund should appear next day, and it did.
