WiFi Media Player

I am looking for a good priced media player. I know JB has them for about $150.
Just wondered if anyone had spotted one for cheaper.
Thanks.

Streaming media (movies) over WiFi is painful. You need to be realistic in your expectations, because a normal WiFi connection really doesn't have the bandwidth to reliably stream 1080p. Even 720p video will stutter if there are other devices accessing the internet on the same network.

It's much MUCH better over a normal LAN (ethernet) cable.

    • True. I can easily stream the Standard definition movies. But the 720p struggles. Sometimes run smooth for maximum for 10 minutes, then keep freezing for 2-3 seconds.
1080p or the 3d movies never give u a smooth playback.

I am getting a new laptop with 3*3 wireless card. So will try out it with a n router with n wireless card.
They say a speed of 150 mbps. So shd work good for HD movies.

  • You can also try the DGTEC Wireless media player plus set top box at Dick smith. They were selling them around 129, i suppose
