The Nighthawk BJ700X series has recently been discontinued from production and is not readily available in Australia from Citizen dealers. I have only recently added a BJ7000-52E to my own collection from eBay US. The Blue Angels model has a rather flash looking blue dial with yellow details, PVD bezel edge and branded caseback compared to the "plainer" versions. Even though it looks quite busy in photos, it's easy to read the time with a quick glance, and plenty of other details to glean if you care to use the slide rule and GMT function. It also has a very nice bracelet with a milled clasp. 200m water resistance & a Citizen Eco-drive movement are the icing on the cake. A great watch for the money, a no-brainer for $279.

Next up is the CB5000-50L, another Promaster Eco-Drive Aviator, but with a Radio Control feature (which is redundant in ANZ), but perhaps suited to the international traveller. This has full chrono functionality, 200m water resistance, perpetual calendar, world time, slide rule and alarm functions. The list goes on. It's also quite sizeable at around 46mm. Stupendously priced at $399.

    I'm in Brisbane and have a Citizen Promaster with the radio control feature and it works probably 50% of the time.

    Great price for a local Nighthawk. I had the black version and it was a fantastic watch that got a lot of attention. Yes, the dial is ridiculously busy, but all the nonsense measurements fade into the background. The presidential style bracelet is comfortable - not on this version. It wears large because it is all dial with no bezel, although the lug to lug is very short.

    Pros: The specs are hard to beat at this price - solar, GMT, 200 WR, signed screw down crown, engraved case back and date.

    Cons: no bracelet on this version, hardened mineral, weak lume.

      I ended up buying the Citizen Eco Drive Blue Angels Chronograph Men's Watch AT8020-54L early last year as I couldn't find this watch with Sapphire glass.

      It's a great price and I would be tempted if I was in the market for another watch. I love the look of the Blue Angels watch.

      This version is on the bracelet, which I would argue is more comfy than a standard flat oyster type. The lume is actually excellent - it's an icy blue and although it may not beam like Lumibrite, it is very crisp and legible throughout the night on both hands and indices.

      There are certain angles you can see the dial in the daylight which catch just the hands and indices that the rest of dial disappears. It's a very striking watch.

    Good find OP! Have been eyeing the blue angels nighthawk for some time now, and this price was too good to pass up
