  • If I buy 2x Sim packs and activate etc. just prior to travelling will that give my partner and I the ability to make a few quick voice calls each other in Malaysia? (as well as access to 10gb data each with the extra credit top up and added roaming pack)…
    ie. Are calls possible also?

I would think that roaming calls would be super expensive. Are you able to use a web based platform to call - Messenger, Wechat, Whatsapp, Line, Skype, etc?

      • Thanks for your reply. Partner is on a 3g flip phone only (dumb phone). I think when all is said and done a couple of cheap sims on arrival in Malaysia is the way to go. It’s what we’ve done on a previous trip and it is pretty quick, easy and cost effective as we don’t need roaming contact from back home at all, just between us both while we are there..

Yep no worries. To each their own, and also depends on where you are holidaying. Bali for example it would be much easier to get Optus roaming as finding a sim without getting ripped off may be difficult.

        • Yea some countries this works, mostly this offer will be cheaper as what tourists can get is limited.

  • Just to clarify, has anyone successfully combined the $10 included extras credit with a $10 recharge to use for international roaming? I am being told by their live chat this cannot be done and you must select their $20 data roaming add-on.

  • Just got the same deal from Chatswood station Woolworths
