  • Does anyone have one of these? I have a Samsung 40" (full-HD LCD) in the bedroom which is playing up bigitme (faulty panel, right after the warranty expired)… and I just want a cheap replacement. I'm worried a 32" is going to be too small though :(

    I don't care about 1080p, I use it for standard FTA and foxtel-over-xbox-360 :)

40" down to 32", I rekon you will definately notice the smaller screen size.
      I know if I lost 8", I would notice the difference….

        Indeed. It would be tragic.

Depends on how many inches you are packing to start with ;)

      • You will get used to a smaller screen in time, but your gf may not.

    • I've got one of these in a back room.

It is a good tv, the picure is excellent, the tuner is solid, accepted everything I connected, PC over VGA, xbox360 over hdmia nd a dvd player over component, and it plays most of the xvids of a portable hard drive.

It's nothing special, but its good enough for the price.

    • I would suggest you to buy a cheapo LED TV like soniq as electricity price is going to jump up sooner or later.

  • Product Dimension Information 760 x 210 x 565 mm

    all there

    go measure it up

i reckon you'll find it fine by your criteria

This thing is power hungry…nom nom nom

  • Well that sold out quickly!

  • More stock is now available, but hurry! It's bound to sell out fast!

    • hey dick, are you getting any more stock? :(

  • I keep reading these things use a lot of power… but really, how much more power than other TV's? The 500kwh on the website is meaningless to me :(

    • The latest 55" LED Sony and Samsung use around 400kWh, so 500kWh for a 32" is pretty bad. In car terms, it would be like a Corolla using more fuel than a 6.0L V8 Commodore. But if it's only for the bedroom and usage is only a few hours a week, it's probably not that big a deal.

      • Does the 500kWh or 400kWh have any direct relation to the actual rated W's on the back of the device? People are saying the 32" DSE is rated at 150W.

My old 40" Samsung LCD which is busted (and being replaced by the 32" DSE) is rated at 240W….. so surely the DSE one is going to be cheaper to run than my old Samsung? Or does it not work like that?

        • the star ratings ar eusually "per 10 hours viewing"
          so per day, 150w x 10 hours = 1.5kWh, x365 days = 547.5kWh, x 20c/kWh = $109.50 per year.
          400kWh x 20c = $80 per year (assuming 20 hours per day for 1 year)

or less than 1c per hour difference.
Not going to break the bank, is it…

  • combine with Amex $50 cash back deal?

  • Aww out of stock again :(
Seems like a good deal to me.

  • damn, out of stock…any more?

  • Ordered, paid, then got this message: "Your order is on backorder and will be shipped when available" ???, How long do have to wait?, it's supposed to be a BD present!

    • I guess I'm a lucky one… I ordered one yesterday as well, and mine's already here (came overnight from Sydney to Melbourne) - I had it delivered to work, so it's sitting in the back of my car now :D

  • Does anyone know if there are going to be more stock of these?
Aldi have a 32" going on sale from next Thursday, for $249.

(I wonder if it will be price matched by DSE?! I would go ahead and buy one now if I could!

  • I just refreshed page, and it's now showing as 'on back order' with price reduced to $248 !

But with postage (to metro Melb) $67, total comes to $315 :-( I think I'll still wait for Aldi (free in-store pickup!)
