  • How long does it take to set up and pack up the whole thing (cables, base stations, etc.)?

    • First time? Or just down and up again? First time might be 30 minutes of setup, software doing things etc. After that you can probably be up and running in < 5 minutes from boxed up. You have to run a bit of room setup each time

    • Doesn't take too long. Once you get into the swing of things probably 5 or 10 minutes. Worth noting that I only have the original Vive but probably safe to assume it will be the same / very similar.

The base stations can also sit on a shelf / table or you can mount them higher.

      • I sit them on the desk mounted with a cheapie small standard tripod - works a treat.

  • Wouldn't recommend buying from Microsoft. Any warranty issues means you'll have to deal directly with HTC's customer service

    • Won't you have to deal with HTC customer service anyway since it's a HTC product?

      • +1

Not if you get it from computer alliance or PLE, etc

  • Now that's tempting! Been waiting for a decent price drop for the Cosmos

  • I've been looking at the oculus quest for my teenage kids. Can someone give me an idea why/if the HTC products would be better and if so which would you recommend?

    • I can't think of much of a reason for most people to go for one of the HTC products over an Oculus Quest, or Rift S (if they will be playing exclusively PCVR titles anyway)

      • Facebook

        • The recent news is crap, but you'll only need a facebook account for the social features at least. Without it, functionality should be at least the same as an HTC headset.

  • Oculus Quest
