I've heard a Canon rep in an old interview saying that Canon values reliability over potentially overworking the small sensor. Also something about battery drain from the relatively tiny battery, etc. Also, look at the size (and build quality) (and price) of a 1DX mark2 for how Canon think a "compact" reliable 4k ready should be.
