[NSW] Ezy Storage 163L Christmas Tree Box $15.99 @ Bunnings, West Hoxton

140

Found this at Bunnings in West Hoxton. Priced down from $39. Note that the label on the boxes incorrectly stated 50 litre capacity. These are 163 litre boxes.

Went to buy one ended up getting 3.
Mainly advertised for a Christmas tree box or as one of the guys at Bunnings asked who I'm going to bury in there.
Endless applications.
Plenty of stock left

What is this? A Christmas tree box for ants?!? It needs to be atleast 3 times this size…

  • +2

Description says 163L, but photo shows 50L?

    • +1

Just from eyeballing it's much too big to be 50l.

    • Item number on box matches online

    • We have this box. The OP has the correct description. Have a look at the pallet underneath for size reference. And yes we put our Christmas tree in it :)

..asked who I'm going to bury in there

Pro Tip: buy the Lime and Shovel on separate visits. Less suspicious 🕵️‍♂️

    • +1

The attendant at my local Bunnings told me that the lime they sell is not the right type for that. He told me about the one that he uses but i can’t remember the details….

      • +3

Did he invite you to see his garden shed tonight?

        • Yes. How did you know?

    • I thought the recommended technique was to use quick lime, shovel & carpet.

    • How so

Open your eyes and you can see it's completely different

    • I have 3 of them right here with me and on the label on the box is the exact description as online

    • Open your eyes man. Its one stack of containers and one of lids making up the online photo.

      • Kind of like 🍎 🖊?

  • This is incorrectly marked. Can anyone confirm this is still the case? I will drive down and buy them

    • What you mean incorrectly marked as in price or description

      • They mean the orange label in your label stating it is 50l .

        • Its actually 163L not 50L
I Bought 3 and they have the same description

          • @blitzn: Did they actually scan the barcode at the counter? Or did you refer them to the sign and they gave you it as it is incorrectly priced

            • @cumova: They scanned it at the counter it came up as 39 and he proceeded to change the price without me having to say anything so i assume that was the price

  • Got the one In the picture for $5 in SA on the 23rd they went pretty quickly. They had ornament boxes too which we are using for pantry storage

    • Website is showing in stock, but $39.

      • I think it's only in-store at West hoxton bunnings

    • Which store?

  • My Christmas tree came in a box. Still using it 5 years later.

  • I actually bought 2 coincidentally today, but at $31 each in SA. This looks wrong to me…

    • +1

I bought two yesterday, also reduced to $31. I think it just depends on the store with clearance items like this, the stores around here are always stingy and never reduce by as much as the deals I see on ozbargain.

  • Width 1155mm
    Height 491mm
    Length 387mm

    Is this correct?

  • -2

Can confirm its marked down at all bunnings
    163L box was $39
    Then $31
    Now $15

all other xmas storage boxes market down too

    • I’ve just been to three bunnings but all are $31.

    • -1

This is completely false! Not reduced at every store!

      • -1

Im sorry. Thats what bunning guy said. Sorry i didnt have the time to drive around to every store in australia to confirm this was correct.

  • rang the local bunnings and was told $31

  • Went into Bunnings Marion (SA). Guy in front of me got the last 2. Two left with one or two wheels busted out. Took them to the counter and they would only reduce them broken to $15 each. Said I would pass. Then she dropped the lid from the counter and it shattered everywhere. Definitely pass,it only dropped 70cm.

In summary, gives these a miss. They are rubbish. Also give Marion Bunnings a miss, they never price match these deals like the others do.
