70

So for those who have taken advantage of Telstra's rewards program bonus points deals can get a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 32GB LTE by redeeming 61,000 points and paying $96. Providing you haven't already been tempted by the Google Home Mini 2 for 1 deals.

Telstra has changed the points price from 111,000 to 96,000 points.

To obtain the deal, you will have had to have signed up to the early bird rewards program enrollment 10,000 points, the 2,500 Google home Mini direct calling signup bonus and signed up to the 50,000 direct debit points program.

The tablet retails at $499 (this is the 4G/LTE model not the wifi only model).

Postage is from Sydney via Startrack express.

Enjoy!

Fail to see how this is a ‘deal’.

Telstra has been giving ridiculous amounts of points for nothing. If you have these points, then you can get a tablet for very little.
If I hadn't already subscribed to direct debit, I'd have enough points for this.

Alternatively, I could get 4 x Google Nest Mini bundles, which on eBay would probably fetch $300 total.

      • I take it that cancelling and signing up to DD again didn't qualify for the signup points? Bummer!

        • Nope. Tried that :)

  • I mean technically this is cheaper…. but Telstra has such inflated prices. I did a quick google search and this was the first result.

And that comes with a screen protector and case.

    • The link you provided is for the inferior wifi only model, this one is the 4G/LTE model which you can use a sim card as well as wifi.

    • That's not an LTE model.

      • Fair enough. Decent price then if you have the points!

  • I totally waited for the 50k bonus to get one of this for less than $96.

However, delivery is handled by Startrack so I question their reliability.

And then depending where you live, the bushfire might stop you getting it delivered :(

    Go firefighters!

Isn't StarTrack a subsidiary of AusPost?

Never had any problems with startrack. I find them very quick and realiable.

      • I'm sceptical based on my previous experience. YMMV. I ordered my tablet on Wednesday, despatched on Thursday and they still haven't picked up from the warehouse. I'd understand if they have picked it up but not in transit due to fire. Dunno

  • Used 78k points + $48 and receive tablet today.

    Pros:
small and slim, I’ll able to used one hand to hold it.
LTE good if you going to use it for outside.

    Cons:

2GB Ram make the tablet lagging for loading app.
32GB storage also annoying but useable and I slotted a 128GB SD card.
Power button on the side next to volume buttons make me kept on pressing the wrong button.

    • I only had 62,500 points so had to pay $96. I ordered mine last night and received it today. I'm only using it as an iRacing dashboard/button box so the 2GB ram won't bother me.

I'm just finding Samsung's UI annoying. I am used to the pure Android experience on the Nexus/Pixels. I've also ordered a 128GB SD. It will probably be overkill but data is cheap.

  • I want to pull the trigger on this but my inner ozbargain spirit says No. I think i'll wait for the next deals to arrive. Besides, i'm not in the market for a tablet.

  • Just got my 50k today. Unsure what to spend my 66k on, open to other suggestions
