Living Social Deal (Australia-wide) - Mothercare - Buy 3 get 1 Free seeking 3 buyers

LivingSocial has an Australia-wide deal for Mothercare valid for 5 more days:

$100, $150 and $250 Vouchers to Spend on Baby, Childrens and Maternity Clothing at Mothercare for $39, $59 and $99 respectively.

Now here's the real deal. I stumbled across this post by alwayscheaper - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/49991 wherein he is suggesting a way of sharing the rewards of the referral scheme at LivingSocial.

Here's how it works (all credit to alwayscheaper for the brilliant idea):

I am seeking 3 buyers who are interested in this deal too so I can send them the link to buy, then between us we'll share the savings of one voucher which equates to $14.75 each ($59 divide by 4, assuming all 4 bought the $59 voucher).

After I successfully get a free deal, I am proposing to bank deposit $14.75 to your bank account, giving you a saving of $14.75 or making the deal $44.25 instead of $59. I know this requires a bit of trust but if you are buying the deal anyway you have got nothing to lose, and we will start to see whether this works and can use for future deals!

      They all work out pretty similar.

      • $39 for $100 value = 61% saving
      • $59 for $150 value = 60.6% saving
      • $99 for $250 value = 60.4% saving

    Hmmm, my wife is interested in this deal.

    I'm interested in the quality and pricing of the items for sale, e.g. are these overpriced at the normal price and do these vouchers mean the price is slightly cheaper than you would find else where?

    In saying that I'm pretty keen if the answer to the above questions are positive.

    The deal may be on regular priced items only. I looked at it awhile back so I forget. They seemed to have a lot of stuff onsale.

    People are already selling these vouchers on ebay….

    Thanks to those who purchased yesterday. We were able to get three purchases in through my referral link, so it shows the status of my deal is free. Once I get a confirmation that my account has not been charged, I will arrange for the transfers via email.

      LivingSocial still hasn't credited the free deal. I have raised a case with them and am following up with them. Will keep you posted on the outcome. Check your emails for further details.
