Just saw this deal for a decent Smart watch.
The Gen 4 has just received and update which includes the Gen 5's previously exclusive battery management system and Wear OS version H.
Quite a few colours to choose from still.

$20 off for the referee ($99 minimum spend), and $20 credit for the referrer.
Doesn't let me use the $20 email signup promo code for this watch :(
Yeah $20 voucher only works on full price items.
Apologies, good point. I'll edit the post.
Whats the difference hardware wise from Gen4 to Gen5?
1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage.
and a speaker and slightly smaller bezel
Not all Gen 5's have speakers.
I presume vs 512Mb / 4Gb?
Yeah. And also 2100 vs 3100 Qualcom CPU.
Altho on the Fossil site its advertising what I originally thought was a Gen 5 for $249 - as it says its the 3100 CPU (but doesn't mention the model) . But it also says 4GB internal storage - and a separate page has the Gen 5 for $499. I was excited there for a minute.
@ASA: pretty sure the sport does have the 3100
but yeah only has 512Mb / 4Gb which sets it apart from the gen 5
@lemoo: Ah… I didn't realise there was a sport! Thanks :)
@ASA: yeah, good looking watch, but my biggest issue with my ticwatch e (512/4gb/2100) is performance, so will prob hold out until i get a decent upgrade hardware wise.
Does it answer Phone calls
No. No speaker. (You can press the answer button on the watch but it will come through to your phone or earbuds)
Oh Thanks for the reply
For existing owners out there - what are your real world experiences with battery life on this thing?
In regards to the Gen 4 model
I can't give you highly specific advice because for me as long as it lasts from when I put it on in the morning to when I charge it at night that's good enough for me. It definitely lasts all day for me and probably would last another half to full day, but I use it 90% as a regular watch (to check the time), and only about 10% in checking messages, setting alarms, getting emails, tracking exercise etc. I do however have the display always on (dimmed, until you raise you arm), and have it connected to my phone all day.
My advice, if you're a bit of a power user and/or you get battery anxiety from your phone, then this probably isn't for you.
Horrid watch,
Have returned mine and and partners and purchases Samsung Active 2
Clunky, errors all the time.
I have this one. Great watch if you want a smart watch that still looks like a pretty nice regular watch. Battery life and performance is occasionally annoying but I think that's pretty standard with these kinds of smart watches. Can easily swap out the steel band with any standard 22mm watch band if you want to change it for exercise (I have a silicon one).
