PS3 160GB $299 and Play TV $78 - Harvey Norman

130

I know that BigW have their PS3 for $298 for the 160GB, but Harvey Norman is doing almost the same thing for $1 more.

The main thing different over at Harvey Norman is the PlayTV add-on which is almost half price, on special at $78. Compare that to JB's $149 and that seems like a great incentive to head on down to pimp up your new PS3.

Check the first Slide on their Advertisement, otherwise check this link for their online prices (does not show PlayTV for some reason?) - http://www.harveynorman.com.au/product/search?addFacet=def_s…

Unless somebody will drop the price further, otherwise around $300 is like average price now.

  • You could get HN to beat the price by Big W for the PS3.

hardly a deal. just a price drop

  • Which store has AMEX cashback?

    • Yup, BigW is included in the latest round… so potentially $248 if you stack these two deals!

cant wait for these to be around the 200 dollar mark… i rekon give it another year or so… then ill pounce :D
after all PS2s got down to about 100…

dont know why they still do these with 160 gig drives, though have though it would be more ecnomical to use larger drives… 500GB/1TB as they seem to be the cheapest…

I'd say you can get more than $100's worth of entertainment in a year, so its a good price to buy already.

      • whats to stop me getting that 100's of dollars next year? or the year after?

  • +4

Not a bargain. I can get it for $1 cheaper.

  • Hardly Normal, You've Done It Again!

I know that BigW has it cheaper, I just wanted to point out the PlayTV which is $10 cheaper than BigW (which online says that there are none in stock)

Sounds like a sweet deal for a Blu-Ray/DVR combo for $376.

    • -1

so if you know BigW has it cheaper, why are you posting a 'deal' that is $1 more than them? It's technically NO DEAL

  • isn't this now the normal price for PS3? Is a price drop not a sale right?

    • Price drop was to $349.95 RRP.

Big W has it for $298, here for $299, Jb hifi for $349 but with close on $50 worth of extras.
All good bargains, not everyone has all 3 stores close by to choose from.

  • Hi
I still using PS2 for my kids to play PS2 games only. What PS3 can do with free entertainment, Can someone tell me pls. I only download RMVB file watch from PC and TV through media player only thanks

    • ps3 prints money. cant be freer than that, right :)

    • free entertainment only: I use the wifi ability of my original fat-PS3 to have the net, streamed .avi/.mp4 (unfortunately .mkv is slow) from my mediaserver or vuze. then you can also watch ABC iview.. gruen transfer! :) i dont have anything rmvb format though.

  • REMEMBER WHEN BUYING AT HN

By the time you walk to the games section, you've probably been ripped off 5-6 times no matter how good the deal is!!! My cousin's mate's brother went in for a USB stick - $16 for 8GB, and came out with a $3500 Flexirent deal, 36months extended warranty on everything and a missing kidney. Beware Gerry Harvey. True Story.

Ask your 'cousin's mate' to grow a backbone and say 'NO'

      • +4

it's "cousin's mate's brother" rather than "cousin's mate". BIG difference. One is imaginary and one could be real :)

        • +5

'cousin's mate' … sounds like a past time in Tasmania /stereotype

I think you meant cool story….bro…

  • Just bought one thanks

  • If you buy from HN with AMEX you can get 5 bonus points every $1 spent at HN

    http://www.americanexpress.com/australia/personal/cards/rewa…

Stack that with $50 cash back offer ?

  • Just went into Gordon, they had a deal for an upgraded ps3 to 640gb plus resistance 3 preorder for $398.
