Seen some earlier posts as $ 1300 with 2 years warranty as a great deal

Says 1 year Australian warranty seems worth the deal

  • I guess it's okay… but does it have 'Nikons Australian "Manufacturers" Warranty'? or is it through a 3rd party?

And besides, you can get this particular camera at JB HiFi (with full Nikon aussie warranty plus bonus bag and battery) for $1093.10 if you just ask:

    http://www.jbhifi.com.au/photo/digital-cameras/nikon/16-2mp-…

    • When you say just ask, you mean literally walk in and say "Can i please have the Nikon D5100 for $1093.10?" and they'll give it to me?

considering its not even a 10% discount over their advertised price, I'd say yes.

Also this SS one would be stung with customs GST no?

      • Pretty much yes.

One tip to know when it comes to purchasing high ticketed items from JB HiFi such as this is that if you have seen the same product on special/sale before for example during JBs Friends and Family sale you can generally just ask them for that same discount any time, any day of the year and they will generally honour it (depending on the sale staff you have). This goes for Notebooks 10% = instant, 15% = most of the time, Apple Notebooks 10% = instant, DSLR camera's 15% = instant.

Please be aware though, some sales assistant will try to lure you to buy accessories to increase their commission and to recover costs so it pays to visit various JB HiFis and just 'ask'.

If a sales staff tells you that 'it's below cost' just walkaway and try elsewhere.

Also! Remember the most important thing of all is to be polite and curious to the sales staff.

  • shoppingsquare??? people who bought their phone on 11 July haven't received the phone yet. dispatch randomly rather than based on who bought first. the business is a joke. search productreview.com.au for their review. buyers beware!!!
