EB Games PS3 $298 / $248 with Wii Trade in

61

Inline with Harvey Norman and Big W, EB is now doing the PS3 for $298.

Last time I checked, a Wii traded for $50, so that makes it $248 (cause when did you last use your Wii?)

How does trading in a Wii make this a bargain? Not everyone has a Wii :)
You can leave it as $298 though.

    • True, but for those who do, trading makes it significantly cheaper than Big W or JB

How about you sell your Wii to someone for $75 and post that as a bargain as well? :P

Hm… it's going to be really interesting to see how the Wii U sells. It feels like the tides are turning for Nintendo in the console market.

It's weird, too, since the Wii was actually a far greater console than the Gamecube. It just has a lot of crap on it, too.

pfft would never trade wii in for just $50..

its worth keeping anyway. there are a few good games on there.

And I can trade in my car and buy 2 of these.

Mn……..not that i don't appreciate the price drop….but I don't know whether a cheaper RRP(so this deal is $1 cheaper than RRP..) is a bargain though?

    • I see where you're coming from, RRP is $349 though.

I'd rather give my Wii to a stranger, daycare or a local kid than let eb have it. Not as though I've even used it in two years.

  • If someone finds out when this offer is due to expire can you let us know - cheers

    • I don't think you'll have any trouble getting a ps3 for less than $300 from now on…

I just wanted to say I love my Wii and hate the gaystation

    • +1

'gay' and 'hate'. are you a OneNation die hard too?!

i used my Wii today so neg from me! (trading my wii for 50$ it's certainly a bargain, not for me, but for the buyer!)

    • no reason to neg…That is why the op included two options one just to buy the ps3 and the other to people who have finally caught up with gaming and realised the wii is no longer need

      • -1

if we exclude the trade in option then the offer should be deleted as a dupe ;)

The trade-in comment in the OP is pretty stupid.

I wonder if it was a sudden realisation that tradinging something in makes the next purchase cheaper? ROFL!

    • Only reason I added that comment, was that this is the absolute cheapest you can get a brand new PS3 at retail. If you don't want to trade, then fine, that's your decision. The fact of the matter is, you can walk into any EB with your Wii (which you may or may not play), and walk out with a PS3 for just under $250.

Show me one other retailer where you can currently do that, and I will remove the trade in comment.

If I walk into eb with 2 new ps3 160gb I could get a new one for around $180, your deal just got burned!

With the release of "Xenoblade Chronicles" on September the 1st,I think a lot of Wii's will get the dust wiped off them.

You could trade your old ps3 and make it cheaper again…
you could get one for christmas, it won't cost you a cent, that be a bargain as well!

  • you should also place some trade in values for things like psp (sicne the vita is coming out) DS or DS lites (since 3d is out)

  • Wow $298 for the PS3 so damn cheap. I remember buying one for $600. Thanks for the post, I'm going to buy a second PS3..
