Don't wanna be "that guy" but for $10 more a month, Aussie Broadband 100/20 NBN, super reliable, excellent customer service.

    • Hmm for $0.10/month extra normal price, I think I might give it a go after 6 months. Their typical evening speed is 3 Mbps faster. Negligible but might as well haha.

Routing plays a huge part in how good your internet is, not just peak speed locally. Turns out Optus is trash, who knew. (I should have).

I went from Kogan to Vodaphone(same network..) NBN but I was suddenly taking 5 minnutes to connect to battle.net (overwatch) and some UK sites I need for work were loading incredibly slowly. I chalked it up to random errors on their side, until I tested them on my mobile data.

I was back to Aussie and the problems were gone. But I had to get the CGNAT taken off for port issues (eg COD, file sharing outside my network etc) via support.

Now if you never see a use-case similiar to mine (dont play online games, only use netflix, old parents etc) - save the $20 a month definitely. A gamer or work from home and use overseas servers? Don't risk it.

        • Can't agree more on this point.. Have seen multiple people complain about Kogans NBN international routing being woeful. Its not worth it all around in my opinion though for a sub performing service for anything out of Australia.

Since when is 100/20 for $88.90 per month a bargain?

    • Not sure if you read properly, the deal is $10/month cheaper for first 6 months. That's the bargain.

      • But there are plenty of ISP's that do a "first 6 month" offer.

        Its also Kogan….

        • Yeah… **** Kogan if I can avoid em

          • @nicholsonr: Kogan is just the biller, everything else is voda. Come to think of it, kogan doesn't even bill you, it shows up as voda on my cc.

They have increased the prices. The 50mbps used to be just $65.

I'm paying Kogan $65 a month for 100mbps(for 6 months). I'm happy with them so far. Reliable speeds.

    • Yep, I remember doing research back then, it's actually quite decent price. Now is obviously not as good, but still cheaper than other options.

    • If u sign up before? Do you still pay 65 a month for 50mb?

  • They use Vodafone and my experience with them have been good. 90mbit+ everynight. I've experienced the odd drop out but I don't know if it's related to the supplied modem (TP Link unsure what model). There have been planned outages and they send text notifications before hand. Overall I'm happy with them. YMMV

    • They use Vodafone for NBN? That doesn't sound right?

      • +1

Yes they do. And the offshore call centre is actually far better than your avg cc.

Currently with Kogan nbn. Great speeds even in the evening

Im with kogan. Average speeds 30 mpbs. FTTN.
    Average support
The modem they send out is shit.

    Not a deal at all
They put the price up then say giving you discount
    NBN 25 was $58
    NBN 50 was $66

  • The cheapest NBN 100 plan at normal price out there

That is a big claim. I counter with Spintel nbn 100 unlimited $84.95 per month.

    • How is spintel speed and service? fast and stable?

      • Don't know. This is a challenge on price, not speed or quality of service.

$89 is same as tpg etc

  • I’m looking for the fastest nbn at the cheapest price surly some here as a decent deal ??

You remind me of Merl at one of those get rich seminars who after 2hrs of listening to whatever the presenter was spruking got up and said I get it now… buy low and sell high

  • What is happening to NBN deals these days, falling to pieces with very minor discounts.
I was with Kogan on the $75 100/40 previous deal, int speeds were sloppy but I could live with it.
Found them not too bad but it depends how bad you need int speeds. But NOW? getting more expensive.
