Linsar 50" 4k UHD LED TV $298 @ The Good Guys

700

I bought this when it was at $269 or $279 for a CCTV monitor. works great for that. only problem with it is viewing on an angle isnt that clear. this would be perfect for a kids tv or i guess a second maybe 3rd tv somewhere in house. it is slow for it to turn on but aye its a 50inch $300 tv.

50 inch 4k ultra HD LED TV for under $300 :o Amazing.

    • I’d still spring for HDR if it’s your main movie tv. And check that it Even supports 4k@60hz

    • From a brick and mortar store it's even more so.

    • Yea, my jaw almost dropped when I saw the price. The tech came too late, could have a decent tv during my poor student years.

A 50" 4K big TV is cheaper then a ipad.

    • +5

      Just not as portable 🤣

      • It covers your eye just as well though. Can even cover the whole family's eyes.

cheers was looking for a tv. just got one will drop a review when i set it up.

edit got it for 15 less from their ebay store via click and collect

    • What code did you use? POOL3 gets it down $9. PREPARE and PUNNET don't work on it.

      • +2

        Punnet still works.

        • My bad, didn't see the eBay Plus requirement for it.

    • got it setup and will bw taking it back. 4k 60hz isn't available with this…. was told otherwise by the sales person

    Aye

  • any energy star rating ?

  • What will Tempo do when they run out of old brandnames to trash?

  • +1

Their 75" is $999 or $900 on eBay (if you add a $1 item and use the $100 off code)

    • +1

personally i wouldnt spend that much on their 75inch. i got the 50inch about a month ago. while it is good for say cctv monitor(as i use it for that) or a kids tele, angle views isnt so good for whatever reason and in certain light you can see the LEDs shining up from bottom of screen.

      • +2

curious, where do you keep a cctv monitor that big?

        • -6

I have 16 cameras inside/outside the house (to keep an eye out of my AirBnB guests).
I need to fit all 16 windows on a single screen.
That is why I need it to be that big.

          • +10

@i0k-0RU2zd10c: Do your airbnb guests know there are cameras inside the house? 🤔

            • +1

@eug: holy shit isnt that illegal if they dont know? Isnt it illegal even IF THEY KNEW?

            • @eug: Yes, guests know where all the cameras are.

              No cameras in bedrooms/bathrooms.

Cameras are in kitchen, lounges, stairs, hallways, cinema room, games room, gym, garage.

I just don't want my house to be used as a drug den or a party house.

@BartholemewH: You mean zeitgeb3r. Although if you've got a 50" 4K TV for cameras the odds you aren't doing something dodgy with it is pretty low.

              • @DonWilson: I have the 50inch screen for cctv sitting where me and my house mate can see it from where we sit at our computers. the screen is about 3.5 metres away. the 32inch we had wasnt big enough so we could hardly see it from where we sit at our computers. comprehend?

            @i0k-0RU2zd10c: Dude…

1 thats creepy as hell, how do you not see this

2 it's illegal if you're recording inside other than a living/common room (e.g. Any bed/bathrooms etc, and with 16 cameras it sounds like you are. You have to let air bnb know you're doing that and you could get into a huge amount of shit if anyone found you were recording outside the legal areas. People made the news for doing that, it's extremely creepy, it could destroy your life and reputation.

              @[Deactivated]: Calm down.

No one said they were hidden cameras.

No one said they were in bedrooms or even inside at all.

No one said it was 16 cameras in a single property.

Your local petrol station probably has 16 cameras, would you assume they're all in the toilets? You had best run and warn them it could destroy their lives!

    Done deal (I hope).

I went in person to see they actually had them. Bought it via Ebay on my mobile. Went to the desk with the receipt number and had one of the 4 reserved.

    Fingers-crossed.

PS: in-store the price is $399!

    I bought it for $288.

    :)

    • Did you happen to see the TV working in store? If so how was the quality? It has very good reviews for such a cheap price.

  • Managed to buy one online from my local store for $278 with a concierge discount and got the pickup confirmation this morning. Thanks OP.

  • I haven't picked it up yet— can anyone who bought this tell me the dimensions of the box? Will it fit in the back of a Camry?

  • +3

124 x74 x16 cms. Just fit in my car. Just set it up. Picture is pretty good, easy to set up. 1 gripe so far, as soon as you plug anything into the sound output, the volume on the remote don't work (this is not a fault, it is in the manual). After I got it in my car, I went back into the air-conditioned store to cool down, and saw it for $399! Thankyou once again ozbargain.

Well, I have to say this TV has a very nice picture on it— I'm amazed for $288. I haven't adjusted it at all, just set it up & plugged in the Chromecast. Btw, I had trouble connecting to my 5G until I set the band to 20 in my router (found this fix on reddit). Then, the TV picked up the Chromecast fine. Watching a 4K Youtube ( https://youtu.be/LXb3EKWsInQ ) is spectacularly crisp and the whites/blacks are spot-on. Regular videos (not the old SD, obviously) look really good. And this is a TV in a family room where the entire side wall is ceiling to floor windows!

Thanks to the OP. I cannot believe I bought a 50" 4K TV for the same price as a low-end mobile phone….

    • The review I was waiting for, cheers mate. I'll be picking mine up tomorrow.

      • we're you able to get 60hz 4k working? gonna return mine was tpld by the rep that 4k 60hz worked but it drops signal going above 30

  • Is this good for PS4 games like FIFA?

  • No idea on the PS4 question, sorry— but the TV is now down to $283 as it's regular price!
