    2 x 1A USB charging outlets

Just a heads up, this is very very slow charging speed

      Aka The overnight option.

O/S travel when you have only 1 AUS->international adapter plug?

    "features 2 x 1A USB charging"

    Absolute useless.

That's actually perfect for my electric toothbrush and water flosser chargers.

  • Can anyone confirm if this blocks the second socket on a standard double GPO?

Pretty sure it is vertical (e.g. pins behind plug match the layout you see), but I wouldn't buy it for charging a device. Barely useful for USB Christmas decorations.

These were rubbish when first sold and time hasn't improved them.

No they don't block. The long part rotates in 180' fashion. It's hard to explain, but if you look at the picture, the circle is static and the rest twists/rotates so that you can have it extending to either the left, right, or upright position. I bought 4 of these from Bunnings on clearance for $3 last week. I got the one with 1 x USB A - 3.5A and 1 - USB C /3A. They were on a clip strip at the end of electrical.

    • Here's a couple of pictures on how these types of plugs work.

      • which bunnings did you go. would love to get one of these

      • That's for a different brand and from a different store… I dont believe this deal has the swivel head power plug

    • I've got the Bunnings equivalent of this which looks like the same factory or at least plastic shell, though mine is labelled 2x2A; it does not block the next port; but FWIW keep in mind it blocks the power switch.

Yes you are unlikely to ever switch it off, but mine make a slight electrical buzz. Nothing abnormal but it is a bit louder than other USB chargers I have so maybe something applicable here if you're thinking of using it in the bedroom as an overnight charger.

  • Kmart stock the Arlec ones which pass through the GPO and outputs a combined 2.4Amps via 2 USB ports for $11: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/arlec-compact-charger-with-…

I run one of those on my kitchen bench, great for charging phones and still being able to use the GPO for other appliances.
